I think what JTB meant was that if there was only you or I in this world under the curse Jesus would have went to the cross to save you or my souls. Hypothetically, our sins wouldn't have necessitated such an absolute scourging. So am I missing something?JTB said:
Jesus would have gone to the cross for only one.

This is unBiblical
IMO, what Gandy might mean, and I believe IF JTB is saying that Jesus would "only die" for one person, then that does not reflect Scripture......
God gave His Son so that "ALL WHO BELIEVE" would be saved. God wants ALL to be saved!
The precious blood of Jesus covers the sins of ALL WHO BELIEVE....
so in that sense, saying He would have died for "just one" is to say that God ONLY WANTED to save ONE person...........
The conditioning have you ever read that book? it is a really old book so I would not be surprised if you haven't but the book is about a young man who lives in an era where more and more rules are placed on the citizens some of them outright bizzare and make no sense it starts off with little things but slowly becomes more and more tyranical until his very faith is then attacked and made illegal but because his family complied with every rule that was set before them they were conditioned to comply and take the mark of the beast against his desperate pleas.

Jesus died for everyone who believes - I was just positing what if there was only one person in the history of the world who believed? Would Jesus have submitted to the cross for just that one person? Or would He, like so many now, say well that's not enough people saved to inconvenience myself for?

Yikes, I think that's where we're gonna wind up if we don't stop quibbling, lol and jk. On the hypothetical issue, I see both sides of the presumption and agree with EVERYONEI see the vaccine discussion even made it here![]()
