Well my pieces of leather shrunk so much I had to trash them...
So I started another one today. Traced, cut, and tooled in a couple of hours. AND the most important thing is that it looks better than the first two times I did it.
And if Sissy doesn't like it she can make the durned thing herself....

Oh how frustrating that must have been.
But it sounds like you are even happier with the new one.
Hope it all works out.
Oh I'm all the way frustrated with it...
But that's what makes the whole thing good.
I've enjoyed every career I've ever had...changed them several times into wildly varying ones. Each one had it's struggles and challenges to overcome. And every time I rose above them. Blocks are something that stop you until you climb on top of them.
And even at my last career of being an electrician there was an ever changing location and environment and obstacles to overcome. Now that I face retirement...I've got to find more challenges...so this one is good. I'll get past this.
And besides...the dried cherries showed up yesterday. (An ingredient for cookies and candies that make Christmas)....
it turned out better this time.

@posthuman sometimes disability is a state of mind 
I worked with a disabled guy and he lived a full life. It was awesome to get to know him because he taught me so much about it...
