No place I would rather be and nothing else I would rather be doing.
Where I was born and raised, minus 20-22 F was a fairly normal daytime winter temp.
That was back in the day when we talked in Fahrenheit.
Now when I speak Fahrenheit, my daughter says she has no idea what I am saying
Canada officially switched in the early seventies, but I have always needed to convert back and forth.
Fahrenheit is more accurate
And good morning, friends![]()
It was 3F this morning when I went out to warm up hubs car.........
Heat is cranked up, I've got 2 layers of warm clothes and am under a super warm, snuggly blanket and am still cold
G'morning sir GandyGood morning M
Are you using Celsius now?
I can tell when it is about 4* C... gloves are needed.Thank goodness for mild winters. -1C is more or less our coldest day.
G'morning sir GandyYes, we be speaking in the C's for a while now, though I am bilingual LOL
I can tell when it is about 4* C... gloves are needed.
Our coldest on the coast used to be the rare minus 7 C,
though the last couple of years it has dipped to minus 8
now see, THAT sounds sooooooooo cold until I plug it into google converter and see that in F it is 19.4 (which is still cold, but doesn't sound as bad)Our coldest on the coast used to be the rare minus 7 C,
man, if the US ever switches to metric I'll be lost.........
I remember they touched on it a little when I was in grade school but not to much.
some of the school work my boys were bringing home had more and more metric related questions on it.....
I asked him to grab his ruler and messure something for me the other day, he said
"Um mom. what do you want me to messure with? the inches side or the CM side?"
Well here it is weird, especially shopping for groceries, because some things areLike my dad. He always talks about feet and inches and we use meters and millimeters ... I mean really; who is still using feet?
Now all the Americans are going to jump all over me![]()
haha, well I was writing my remarks about that when yours popped upNow all the Americans are going to jump all over me![]()
Well here it is weird, especially shopping for groceries, because some things are
marked per kilo and other per pound, so it is near impossible to compare prices LOL
Do they do this on purpose???
And my daughter, who does not have any grasp at all of Fahrenheit, still goes by feet and inches, and the ounce measures for cooking, like a quarter cup of butter and not 250 grams. SO it is a real mixed bag here. Even I cannot understand things like my height and weight in metric LOL. I need it in feet and inches and pounds![]()
Yeah, I need a converter for just about everything but temperaturenow see, THAT sounds sooooooooo cold until I plug it into google converter
and see that in F it is 19.4 (which is still cold, but doesn't sound as bad)
We talk in centimetres and metres and our temp is in degrees, but we are odd
Santa wears thongs and we have pet kangaroos instead of dogs and cats lol.
Bwahahaha Santa and his thongs bwahahaha can't get that picture out of my head
