Biscuits with chicken in them? Is that a new thing?I'm thinking about a biscuit this morning...a nice cajun spiced chicken filet biscuit with some of those tater thingies with onion in them.
They don't make em at Hardee's either.
Oh you are a Yankee of some sort!Biscuits with chicken in them? Is that a new thing?![]()
Nah, I'm Canadian, eh? I think of biscuits as something you add things to after they are baked/cookedOh you are a Yankee of some sort!
Biscuits in the South East are a major breakfast food. Biscuits here are filled with just about anything and everything for breakfast. (Kinda like a scone without the raisins)
EVERY thing from beef filet to sausages and chicken. Of course butter, jam and honey too.
Well yeah...Nah, I'm Canadian, eh? I think of biscuits as something you add things to after they are baked/cooked![]()
Well, there is such a wide variety of flour available here... one site names 26Well yeah...
But you gotta have a good biscuit before you put stuff inside it.
Up in canada you tend to have more yeast raised products because of the high gluten flours that are grown there.
In the hotter climate south we have the softer wheats which have lower gluten content which is better for pastries and cakes.
Hence my problem getting good flours for bread. I'm stuck in the South with dried yeast instead of fresh cake and low gluten flours.
Of course it's all available everywhere...but pack sizes and prices are another matter altogether.Well, there is such a wide variety of flour available here... one site names 26Quite a few are gluten free

I have never heard of biscuits with chicken but I have seen chicken burgers where the bun is a donut. Not sure what to think of that.
A while back they had a vegan cooking show on Tv and this woman made an alternative to chicken nuggets. It was cauliflower florets dipped in buttermilk and then rolled in a whole range of spices and then baked. It ended up looking like chicken nuggets and the cauliflower was crunchy on the outside but soft in the middle.
It actually looked really nice and if I had it in front of me at the time I would have tried it. I have since looked for it on the internet but could not find this specific recipe. The one she made would have had a BBQ cajun style spices but the ones that I looked at on the internet had a different range of spices. Now I wished I had written down the recipe. Oh well it might appear one day as I am looking.
