That's what friends do. The ones that gossip maliciously about another are not friends.

Probably one of the two sending the PM's started gossiping to someone else and this eventually reached the 3rd party.

I've always felt the same way, even when I was very young. I never felt comfortable posting pictures of myself and saying "look at me, me and my life are so interesting, me". Although I regret it because that is how people socialize and there isn't really a replacement.
