Well, you're a more mature, more well-adjusted person than I am, and I'm okay with that. I'm a Christian, but unfortunately, I am also a human being.

Still would have been easier to just ask me what I meant instead of trying to decipher it. Inference, implications, reading between lines - it's all silly and not needed if the person wondering about the meaning will just ask the question they have in mind.

Let me define the statement "unfortunately I'm also a human being":

Unfortunately, I am a flawed, disgusting, smelly, self-centered, self-appreciating, shallow, jealous, hurtful little animal.

I got lazy and didn't want to type all that out. My bad.

I understood it for how you meant it in that we are all flawed as human beings, that is actually why we need Jesus I did not in any way take it to mean that you thought yourself better or above others in any way...

I went back a few days and read through a number of your entries, particularly in the 'why I'm not a good christian' thread.
It explained some things.

Though I've never been accused of being mature before, lol, I will agree that theres a level of immaturity in alot of what you write, and it's couched in subtly abrasive language and it seems is hiding some hurt with anger as a result.

You really don't have to be so 'short' with people as much as you are.
Alot of what you've gone or go through sucks, I get it, but you've got to learn that you're not so unique in that regard.

Many of us became christians through all kinds of hurt, and many got all new batches of it since asking Jesus to save us. Yep.
And those pains manifest in different ways and usually at inopportune times.

We all need more grace, and we all need to give just a little bit more,
I'm at the top of that list, I admit. Tomorrow's a new day and His mercies are new every morning, thank you, Jesus.

I really don't need any more enemies in this world, or on this site, either, and especially in the body of Christ.

I also have a feeling we have a lot more in common than we have different.

(Btw, though, I still think total honesty would admit there was just a TEEENY bit of sarcasm in those posts. Maybe? Just a wee bit?)

At any rate, my last reply was in response to magenta, who posted her assessment of your intent in a post.

I won't debate our opinions of your intent, all I said in my reply to her was 'that's not what he SAID', which was correct, so I really wasn't wrong 3 times in one post.

With being on the fringe of society both through my situation and my choices, I've never had to yoke myself to much responsibility, and as such, I've been able to retain a level of immaturity. It's kind of handy for me at this point in my life since now nobody expects much of me and I don't have to worry about disappointing them. Or if I do disappoint them, I don't give it much thought - they should have had realistic expectations of me, not of what they think I should be based on their own standards.

As for an underlying anger and hurt - that is a different topic for a different time. Yes, no, maybe so.

emjcares, may I respectfully invite you to not tell other people how to live their lives? "We all need more grace" from each other.

Instead of telling someone how they should or should not act, I have found that it is more effective to invite them to consider an alternative behavior. I might do this by saying that I have found a more effective response in a similar situation and they might want to consider that approach instead.

No, it's ok. I just didn't see it as telling people how to live their lives.
When looking back a few days, I noticed a number of people just trying to be reasonable with him, and he was responding pretty defensively and 'short' at times, leaving some folks scratching their head over why, it seemed.

So my statement was, he didn't HAVE to be so 'short' with people so much, We're not his enemy.....in fact I'd say 90% of us or more are not each others enemies here, though the percentage of the perception that we are seems to be a lot lower, and that shouldn't oughta be.

We're brothers and sisters in Christ, we shouldn't treat each other like sworn enemies. If THAT's telling people how to live their lives, well, it's not intended to condemn, but as an encouragement that we're in this together.

I mean, I can barely run my own life, I have no intentions of telling someone how to run theirs.
No, I was just kind of doing what you did, just making a communication suggestion, really.

It's been a really long day, one filled with a bunch of stuff I hate dealing with. I'm stressed out. I have two part time jobs. Neither pay well. I don't get paid from the preschool in the summer and it can make things difficult.

I work around my kid's school schedule. It would be difficult to work during the day in the summer because I'd have to pay someone to watch my kid's. When they were babies I worked more and made a pretty decent living. My Mom would watch my kid's the three days that I worked. It just stopped working and eventually I had to quit. I wanted to be home with my kid's and I felt God pulling me in that direction. I do enjoy being home with them. I like being a homemaker, but you don't make money doing that and it can be very stressful. We cut a lot of things out in order to make it work. Little things like cable television, that never bothered me.

What bothers me is that I'm not bringing a semi decent income home. My Husband likes the way things are and I do too, but sometimes it's hard not to feel like a leech having to depend on someone else to survive. He doesn't see it that way, it's me.

We do have savings one through his employer and our own. Our house needed repairs, things that couldn't wait so goodbye savings.

I was going over bills today and it just got to me. I feel like crap today and I don't even know why I'm putting this out there. I feel like Debbie Downer.

I hate to hear you're feeling like this, Fenner. Wish I had some advice, but I can't think of anything except for... Just know that God has your back.

Lord I lift up our dear sister Fenner to you this evening to bring cheer to her heart so that she may know the immeasurable value she brings to her home in being present to mother her children throughout the day while her husband is busy at work to provide the household income. Please assure her of the steadying influence she has, the treasure her children have in knowing she is always there and ready to help at any moment when needed, the pleasure her husband has in knowing he is able to do enough to provide for her and his precious family, even if they have to make sacrifices in order to keep everyone together. Quell the worry. Allow Fenner to appreciate her blessings without feeling like a burden on others, as if she could be doing more when she is already doing one of the most important jobs on the planet. Bring her peace and contentment Lord I pray this in Jesus' name, amen.

Ya know, one of the most important charges we have from God is the raising of our children. Never feel less than whatever for dedicating yourself to the caring for, and raising of your children........trust in God, and do what He believes to be important, and trust Him to provide for your needs.

Praying for you to reach peace with this issue
