I have to admit I would never have guessed your cryptic message was referring to this!

One thing most people don't know about me.... I'm very unique.... And very tender. I find the most random things to be awesome and beautiful. Cause that's what God created me to be. :)

Im a changed person since I lost my dad 2 years ago... Funny to think the 20th of this month my dads been gone for 2 years... But I'm not the same; and I'm completely changed... All glory to God. ^_^

I am very much like that too!
I get that too because I went through a similar change when I was expecting my first child and it was after the actual birth that I first became aware of a need to thank a God I had yet to believe in.

LittleBit, don't change, you are a sweet young lady.

I'm sorry I completely missed this until lady bug referred to it LOL. I have two parrots. :) One is quite mad - as in angry!

Some years ago my wife and I got a couple of lovebirds because they looked so cute together.

But they made so much noise at certain times of the day, and they were not at all friendly, that we finally sold them.

I understand that properly trained and socialized parrots can be great pets.

Have you heard of Einstein the parrot?

Yes of course, Einstein is quite a famous African Grey.I also have a grey (my avatar) who is really sweet-natured and a great talker. Parrots are SO intelligent.

I am puzzled, if not bewildered, by their intelligence. Not too long ago I saw a show about the puzzle solving ability of parrots. A complicated nut, bolt and wire puzzle was presented to a parrot to solve to get a treat. He not only figured it out, but when the middle of the puzzle was disabled, the bird understood that and only solved the second half of the puzzle. Incredible.

And if I remember correctly, they often really do understand what they are saying. What is your experience with that?

They certainly can equate a situation to words. For instance Beau knows that when he sees me putting my shoes on it's time to say "goodbye", having his cage covered means "night night", mornings mean "breakfast time" and by my going to the cupboard means he is about to get a treat. There is a certain amount of understanding with the words.

The most syllables Beau can speak in one sentence is 6 - his favourite is copying my son (and they change the voice to copy the particular person) "I'm off out for a bit" LOL
