I was feeling a bit philosophical today so this came to mind:
One of the arguments I heard atheists use against faith in general. Is that people believe in religion to provide meaning in life when life actually has no meaning. No official rule. It's all a triviality. No higher power. No final destination. Subjective.
You just exist. Your instincts guide you to benefit your species in someway.
I still ask to this day whenever I think about it. Humans do have instincts. But, were supposed to be more advanced to were we don't strictly rely on instinct, right? I mean, we do things not even essential to survival. But get some kind of enjoyment from it. But if our existence means nothing, why do we care about such things?
If there was no meaning to our existence, what's the point of existing? Why do we try to go on? What's the point of trying to accomplish goals? What's the point of having a life if it's all a triviality? After all none of it matters when our time comes, right?
So how is believing God gave us a purpose any crazier of an idea than to say we don't have one?
Do understand nonbelievers who read this, I don't intend this to be mocking. But rather me analyzing. Picking it apart and making my conclusions on the matter while doing so.

There are plenty of Gaelic resources online , so I can easily find stuff like that
but I wonder if the Gaelic language uses "please" (mas e ur toil e) the same way as in English,
or if they use thank you (tapadh leat / leibh ) like we tend to to in Norway
or if they just say "I want - whatever " when i.e. ordering a beer
