You can never take the BIBLE 'way too seriously"...what happens is that a person can begin to interpret the BIBLE To fit their mode or moodswing at the moment. It is so easy to become extremely legalistic. The BIBLE does not need people....people need the BIBLE...THE bible and all of it's potental, power, stories, and annointing by the Holy Spirit, will never fade away. It's like having an owner's manual, a roadmap for life, a history book and a reference all at the same time. Do not judge the BIBLE on how others tell you how it should be interpreted. Read it for yourself and as you do, invite the Holy Spirit to help interpret those scriptures to your life.

Thanks so much for the prayers for my Dad. The doctors treated a bad infection and will be keeping him there most of the week, so things are looking up but we're not entirely out of the woods yet.

Kodiak I have been asleep since around ten so I just saw the news
I am so sorry. Im praying for you kiddo. My heart breaks for you have to go through this again. Please don't be sad brother. I am not giving up. I will pray and pray for you. I am so sorry I fell asleep early and didnt get the news til now. Surround yourself with your loving mom and family. Jesus loves you kiddo. Be brave and dont give in..dont give in. God bless you
 
I am so hot. We are under a heat advisory and it is so hard to breathe with it being so hot due to my asthma
 
mightn't work well for work etc, but maybe try wrapping a sheet of cloth (that has been soaked in cold water) around your head?

O Lord, you are my God;
I will exalt you; I will praise your name,
for you have done wonderful things,
plans formed of old, faithful and sure.
For you have made the city a heap,
the fortified city a ruin;
the foreigners’ palace is a city no more;
it will never be rebuilt.
Therefore strong peoples will glorify you;
cities of ruthless nations will fear you.

a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat;
for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall,

You subdue the noise of the foreigners;

 On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples
a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine,
of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined.
And he will swallow up on this mountain
the covering that is cast over all peoples,
the veil that is spread over all nations.

He will swallow up death forever;
and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces,
and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth,
for the Lord has spoken.

It will be said on that day,
“Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us.
This is the Lord; we have waited for him;
let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”
For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain,
and Moab shall be trampled down in his place,
as straw is trampled down in a dunghill.
And he will spread out his hands in the midst of it
as a swimmer spreads his hands out to swim,
but the Lord will lay low his pompous pride together with the skill of his hands.
And the high fortifications of his walls he will bring down,
lay low, and cast to the ground, to the dust. (Is 25)
