It looks like we got our rainy season early,starting this week,living in Florida it usually starts during the summer.
 
it's raining again in central texas. at least it's cooler today. the other day, the humidity was icky! :)
 
Off to my last class for the day. I am so excited because I love my business class because it is so much fun.:)
 
Has anyone else noticed, that when one is in the "wrong" area of the forum, that it isn't addressed unless that person starts to upset common understandings and doctrines?

This has happened to me more than once, and here just recently. Like "you can post here unless you start saying things I don't like." Because every time it is WELL into the thread before brought up.

And instead of debuking all this corrupt teaching with more than simple doctrine it's elaborating on, it's "aha! You're not [forum audience here], so I'm not going to address any of your corrupt teachings, but instead assume you're up to no good because you're not in your place."

I think in every case, it was for the good of the "babes." I just don't know how sheltering the babes with only one viewpoint is going to prepare their faith for the others they will inevidently encounter. Seems kind of naive to me.

Ditto :) Years ago, one of my brothers and I spent many a weekend evening right on thru to the morning playing. Played more than a few "club players" over the years as well. We anxiously awaited the newspapers updates c/w moves and positions of the Bobby Fischer - Boris Spassky world championship match in 1972 ... and followed them closely. Still have quite a few books of famous matches from most of the greats detailing each move that allows you to replay them and analyze. But my favorite memory in regards to the game was when my youngest was in the 6th grade ... and she "volunteered" her dad to be their school's chess coach for the year ... lol I actually loved every minute of it during their lunch periods and sometimes after school. They came within a 1/2 point (a draw) of winning the county outright (they weren't even on the chess map prior to this) and I ended bringing 5 or 6 of them to the provincial championships in Toronto that same year. Now ... that's where the game is taken seriously ! Too much so, actually. There was even a young boy in the 7th grade at that tournament (with his personal coach :confused:) that had just returned from Europe playing a tournament with masters. I kid you not. I felt like I went to a gunfight with a peashooter ... lol But all in all, they fared quite well. My youngest beat a young Chinese boy her first game ... and the poor kid was crying because he had lost to a girl. Turned out that his loss to her was his only loss ... and cost him a chance in the finals. But the pressure on the kids was immense ... and I would never recommend it become that competitive at that young an age. Might pick up the game once again in my retirement years :)
 
this rain is making me feel so lazy. i just wanna sit on the couch and eat unhealthy food.

if someone tells me to go for it, i will lol

Yea, I don't think kids should be subjected to that type of pressure...at least not until they get into high school. I just finished playing on one of the sites that was linked earlier, LOL. I'm sure glad no one on there knew who I was. First thing I did was loose to someone with a 1026 rating. Seems I just couldn't see the moves. I played a few more games an things sort of began to come back to me but I am nowhere near my old 1400+ rating. Now I'm playing closer to about 1100. Looks like I have a lot a lot of work to do to catch up.

I hear this OH .. lol Last time I re-engaged in the game was with a few friends that had pestered me to play again ... and guys that I'd normally always beat. The first night we played, I didn't win a single game ... and boy, was I MAD ! ... lol Made sure they paid for it the next week tho ... lol But lemme tell ya, ... it was work ... lol I'd estimate two months time of regular playing to return to true form. Not sure if my brain and/or will still remains thou :confused:
 
I've cut my hair earlier today. It was down just past my lower back and now it's just past my underarms, which personally to me that it short. If it weren't for this warm weather I would've kept it long(er).

Now I need to concentrate on a slide presentation that will have me done with this semester. -sigh-
 
You cut your own hair, that's brave.
If I tried that I would probably end up poking my eyeballs out or something.
 
i used to have long hair. then one year, i finally was brave enough to cut off 10 inches! and i've never looked back lol
 
I had long wavy hair right down my back at one point (oh to be young again sigh...)
Then I got old, went grey and cut it all off.

These days it's dyed a plum colour to hide the grey. It still has a tendency to be wavy
though I have to tame it with hair straighteners and try not to burn my ears off!
