Well, I'm preparing for the future. The stroke three years wasn't kind to me. My memory is about one third of what it used to be, and where I was reasonably fluent in at least conversational communication in several languages before the stroke, now days, I find myself fortunate to piece together understandable sentences in English, let alone any other language. So..... I'm trying to get ready for what seems to be coming.I am newer, and I find it cool that you know so much....you are not senile....in fact you are one of the ones of CC that I look up to. You won me to your side....

Whoa now. I'm not telling you guys this for sympathy. It's just fact, and I am adjusting to it. Honestly, it could have been much worse. To look at me, you really never would know I've had a stroke. It's mostly mental (more, cognitive), hearing, vision, and speech when I get tired.

I usually stop to read Willie's wisdom along the other forums too to see what nuggets I can glean from his post.

When you first said you had a stroke a few days ago it broke my heart, I am happy that you are still here and God is not finished with you yet. How exciting is that to know? I was at my grandparents house at a sleepover and my grandpa started not to feel very good and they sent me home at 4 in the morning. Anyway, a couple weeks later I was at a church camp where my mom and aunt got a phone call and my grandpa had a stroke and they weren't sure whether he was going to survive and lets just say we started a prayer vigil at camp because my grandpa would want us to stay there instead of the hospital. It turned out that the stroke should have taken him, but because God wasn't done with him yet and because he worked hard all his life is because his life was spared. So I respect you for all you had to fight for. And give God all the praise and glory for you being here with us.
