Yeah, remember that after Jesus was killed, hardly a week had passed, and these devoted spiritual leaders were right back out in their boats fishing, (which, interestingly, they must have held onto for three years, nets and all.)..... sorrowful, but "business as usual".

Not at all (well.... maybe). But remember the movie, Phenomenon, about the guy who had a brain tumor, and became so brilliant that he blew the minds of all his neighbors, inventing all sorts of good things?That hitting my head caused me to be crazy? I concur
I was in an accident in nursery school, and bumped my head against the window. Maybe that explains the 1__ IQ ? (Too modest to type it out)

The book was called something like, "Ten Lies the Church Tells Women" or something like that. Even though I didn't agree with some of the stuff the author wrote, it was enough for me to realize I was being duped by my church. I'm sure there are plenty of other books on the subject as well.
The best book I ever read was "The Lord Hears Your Cries" and it was a tiny booklet given to me by a counselor as well. There was a page in it entitled "Healthy Anger is a Gift" and it basically explains how anger is God's weapon built into you biologically to help you defend your integrity in Christ and your personal boundaries. It tells how God understands intense anger and offered some psalms written by people who expressed deep anger at cruelty.
As for teaching your children, my young kids and I would write plays, make up songs from the scriptures, dance to upbeat Christian music and just have a good old time learning and growing in Christ. Their father would get so jealous that we'd be having so much fun without him, that he'd join in a lot of times. I didn't have to coax him. Hahaha!!
When I was selected as a mezzo soprano singer for a Christian musical production, it was a miracle because I couldn't read a note of music. My kids would play the music on their string instruments at home and would play it over & over till I memorized my parts. LOL!! So during all of our performances, my kids would be in the front row singing all the songs with us. \
/But I didn't want their dad to feel left out, so I asked if they'd include him in the production crew, setting up, doing whatever to help and so they included him as well. He was so proud of that position. And he got to hear Christian music played over & over and receive that into his heart without my ever having to coax him.

I don't believe I have seen that movie, but it sounds interesting. Your theory may be right.
That movie came out around 2002, I believe, yet an old woman who used to live next door to us told my wife this about 34 years ago. I imagine the saying has been around for eons. And it remains a truism, to this day.

I have a high IQ but common sense escapes me. Spiritual wisdom I get from God. But understanding the things of this world, the way people survive and do things, just goes right over my head. If I'm not impressed by something, it won't even register. I don't know how to fit in. So I've accepted that I'm just a quirky square peg in a round hole world.

A very imaginative and positive way to include your hubby. Thanks for sharing a tidbit of your life.
I used to read to my two children at breakfast (elementary age) before they went to school. They began looking forward to it every day and I don't doubt it had some healthy impact in their lives. We went through the NT children's bible in a year. And we also read a children's series laced in Godly principles. My daughter holds that series very near and dear to her heart. She's a spirit filled Christian at age 25
and loves to hear the Word. My son (27) 
is another story.
