I wish children in school that have a hard time...could realize....to be strong though its hard! School won't last forever! And you never have to see these evil children again. Believe me all the mean children I new in school...20 years later they look really bad most of them don't recognize me because...they were used to me hiding and I don't hide now! Lol...well sometimes its nice. Haha
 
I was in special education in middle school because when I was little I had trouble hearing and it wasn't until I had tubes put in I was able to hear. As a result of this, I had bad coordination, comprehending what I read due to being behind in my speech.

When I was in College since I knew ASL, I drove a special ed buss for the deaf ed children, some of which had multiple problems. My heart really went out to some of those kids.
 
We had lots of teachers in school that wouldn't defend a child being tormented...because the teachers wanted the mean kids to think they were 'cool'....I despised teachers like that!

I was in speech therapy in elementary school because of being tongue-tied.....I spent quite a bit of time in the special education room, the teachers encouraged me to, because I was one of the few nice ones to this group of students...

It is terrible to see that sort of thing. However, they are some of the nicest people I have met...

I am actually fortunate that mine didn't end up being that bad and was able to be corrected for most of it. I do feel bad for many of these kids that have these problems because they can't get fixed or corrected. I admire you for doing that, it is truly heartbreaking especially watching these parents deal with it day in and day out because you can see the pain in their eyes watching their kids try to be normal.

Yes oldhermit! To my heart these special children are Gods angels.....how anyone could be cruel to special children is sickening to me, and the Lord will make evil people pay someday,..in schools for teasing these sweet children! Praise God!
 
I'm still in home speech therapy. I have a whole battery of exercises I am supposed to do on a continuing basis.
 
I was sitting in class where someone from Disability services wanted to talk to me back in elementary school and so he took me in the hall where he was trying to speak to me. Well, the day before my parents told me not to talk to strangers. Well, this man was a stranger and I would not even talk to him. This guy told me that I was mentally retarded for not speaking and even writing it in his report.

I think a lot of it has to do with being accepted in school....Most of those kids seemed normal to me and you couldn't even tell if you spent the time to get to know them.....There was one that refused to talk, the teachers were shocked when they heard him talking to me....I played chess with him, and he was really good....he had a great mind, but was labeled to be different and stopped talking because of it....My heart went out to those kids and I couldn't stand seeing the other students attack them.

Seriously, he couldn't do his research to figure out why you wouldn't talk? I can't believe what some people do.....

Yes true Kodiak! Evil hearts are cowards anyway! That's why they torment the innocence of these children! To love is to be courageous and beautiful! Hate is loathsome cowards!
