They've been in that area since November 18th. And they are able to avoid detection through usual surveillance methods.
That's concerning. Stealth drones?
Anyone have any insight?
Don't really care. New Jersey is a Blue state. I'm a Red state sorta guy. Fly 'em over NYC too.Anyone have any insight?
I've owned, built, operated RC,boats, planes,CL my whole life. With the newer tech things like batteries coreless motors, brushless motors ect. are cheap nowadays. As for drones many are made from things like carbon fiber, foam ect. and so are difficult to detect because of it. They come in kits ready to fly and everywhere in between. Under current laws hobbyist are suppose to not fly over 400 feet and are suppose to be in their line of site while operating them along with them not weighing over 55 lbs. There's other laws regarding RC flight but you'll need to look up all of them for yourself to understand them all. The drones in the news are not complying to the line of site,400 foot altitude,55 lbs part and so the Feds are investigating them because of it is what it seems to me. Most people I fly drones/RC ect with could build what your seeing but I could see it seeming remarkable to those who never built these things.
Makes sense. But a lot of people are reporting they're much larger than any other drones that are know. I don't know what kind of drones they're seeing though. People are saying some of them are as large as an SUV. If they are typical quadcopters that does seem abnormally large. But if they're remote operated planes like the military use that might be another story. The videos I've seen seem to show them darting about like a quadcopter. Of course people could just be exaggerating the size.
Man are those, "but a lot of people are..." people your referring to in for a shock that's going to be like a welcome to 2025 moment.
Don't panic. The lights that I have seen look like the lights of commuter planes.
