I am now seeing bunch of topics of teens being so suicidal... What is wrong with you generation now a days? why can't you even accept yourself and live for God and do what he has called you to do? This is just sad enough that it sickens me and grieves me at the same time...

Go get help but it's time to stop this suicidal nonsense.

This isn't new. This has been going on the entire time you have been alive. You just never heard about it, because we did not communicate this much across such large expanses.
 
This isn't new, as the last post says, but it is a huge problem in today's world. It's struck me personally and it's unfortunate how quick people are to just give up. And it's even more sad that us CHRISTIAN teens aren't doing anything to help. Why not step out and be there for the broken? Why not change-or better yet, SAVE-someone's life? Why is it that we can sit here and judge people for being so depressed, but not do anything about it? Not doing anything is worse. this generation of teens is, in the worst possible sense, hypocritical. It is NOT our place nor our right to judge. Only God can do that. Keep in mind that, "with the same measuring stick you measure others by, God will also measure you."

nate, obviously you have never felt suicidal, or you would not call it "nonsense". That is an insult to people on here who have real feeling and real issues going on in their lives right now. Have some respect!! As a person who has battled depression, suicidal thoughts, AND cancer, I know how these people feel, and what their mind-sets are. They are on here asking for help because they feel God has forsaken them, and as Livvy_Holt said, why judge people for how they feel? You need help from God for compassion with which to understand others.
 
I have thought about suicide several times, and several attempts. When people bring up suicide on cc they are wanting help. They are in the lowest points in there life. While your judging suicidal people you need to be reaching a hand out to those that are suicidal instead of judging. Until you've been down that road and know how it feels you can't say much. At least they bring it up and try to get help instead of not saying anything. Think before you jump to judging other people.

It is a bunch of nonsense, they can clearly just give it all to God and do work for him, please don't use "Judge not" for which I am not being a hypocrite. Besides I felt depression myself (Which I clearly gave it all to God) , and I know myself in that state it is too silly just to kill yourself for a such an easy solution.

If you do not think I don't care, your'e wrong, but it's grieving enough for them to keep coming to us when they should know the answer has always been on the book shelf, computer, ect...

You clearly have never had a friend or family member who went through anything like this, and you've never gone through this yourself. You're being insensitive, Nate. Honestly. If you have such a problem with it, why don't you do something about it?

On the streets, I deal with all kinds of troubles, I can't be there for everyone. Instead of you just sitting here typing to me, why aren't you doing anything?

It appears that I come across harsh, that's just who i am, anyway judgmental, and I am tired of people just coming here when the answer is always oh so simple. If it's that much big of an issue then they must go to God, they should just come here for encourage ment but God is the main catalyst there and they need to go to him about it. It's a simple friendly direction pointer.

While that is true, sometimes God uses other people to help them. Sometimes he speaks, and moves through us until the person is ready to cry out to Jesus and ask Him to make everything okay.

nate, just because you and I gave our troubles over to God, does NOT mean that everyone feels they can. I have talked one-on-one with several people on here about their feelings and problems with suicidal thoughts and such. Alot of them feel like God is not listening, or he has forsaken them. Some feel too hopeless and helpless to ask for help. I have lost many friends AND family members to suicide. Others on here have as well, also. As CEF said in her reply, the ones who are on here asking for help are on here because they are asking US for help!! I'm sure you could manage to offer up a prayer or two for some of these people.

I agree with SadieRobertson. Instead of sitting here typing about what nonsense it is, why dont you get up and do something about it? Send an encouraging message, post a prayer request for them, etc. Try talking to a few people such as CEF, Livvy_Holt and Samcas. They are all dealing with this issue right now. Act more Christ-like and show some compassion for your fellow man!! I hope to God you never have a suicidal friend come to you for help, and you tell them "get over it"!!!!

It also seems to me that you do an awful lot of syh..instead of taking action to help someone in need, you sit here and syh and say its nonsense and get over it.
Right now I'm smh at how you can be so callous and insensitive.

You are right. So isn't it obvious? They are lost and do not know how to give it all to God. And you, as their brother in Christ, can show them the way... And the best way to do that is by loving them and showing them compassion and kindness.

Don't you think Jesus is grieved to see those that he loves feel so worthless that they become suicidal? It is because they have lost all sight of him and have become so lost in what Satan and the world says they are.

So what you say is true... Just give it all to God. And it is simple, God has made it so simple... Yet we, as weak humans, can make it so difficult... In our shame and brokenness it is sometimes difficult to turn to him.

You are young and have not experienced "all sorts of people."

And I am sure that many who post on here are hoping that someone will give them a glimmer of God's love and forgiveness. We are the doorways for God's love to walk through... so be one of them.

I hope you ponder on this... and I hope that God blesses you with a tender heart. :)
 
I know what Olivia (Livvy_Holt) is going through. I know she's made a difference for people with suicidal thoughts/actions. You don't know her. You have no right to judge her. I'm sorry if this is harsh, but it's honest. You're wrong in your assumption. She IS doing something.
 
Have you ever been bullied, online and/or in real life? That problem for today's youth is sky rocketing because social media is a place that encourages this behavior anonymously. Growing up in a time where yes, we are free to express ourselves anonymously (or known by choice) seems to bother you, so may be the victims of cyber bullying that is also a push of a button away for them to see the damage being done by these cyber bullies. You think that doesn't upset or annoy them, especially if little could be done about it? If the problem is made known that the person is being bullied to someone in real life, you'd be surprised how many people wouldn't actually listen to them. How many are overlooked at and 'it's part of growing up' is the response. Or in some cases which when I was first being bullied, being told that I was 'too paranoid' just because I didn't know these peoples names. Hell, I was stalked at one point and had no evidence or witnesses to report it to and I never said anything to anyone about it. If I'm told I was paranoid for not knowing names then what difference would it have made.

What about coming from a broken home? Where they may be raised by a single parent and issues start going on, or even if both parents are in the household and abuse happens to them. Many whether if it's shown or not, being sexually abused. Where would they go if they aren't able to tell their family members and feel like they would be threatened to tell someone because of a possibility of being taken away? Or if they in fact had nobody to turn to and the thought that a God loves them while going through what they are going through isn't going to sound convincing to them at that time.

The reason why more teens are getting depressed and coming online to seek help is because of the fact they feel they have nowhere to go. You can't be quick to assume as to whether or not they have 'enough faith' to simply have all their issues resolved. Often times, it doesn't. They need human intervention, too, and while it may not be the best decision to look for it online, it is an option being sought because they can. You don't know a situation someone is in unless you actually walk a mile in their shoes. Just because you feel you have enough faith doesn't mean that the same feeling applies to everyone. Even if they had any type of faith, that shouldn't mean that they would never feel the way they may be feeling if they are having these said situations going on.

Depression is one of the most if not the most problem that America is dealing with, regardless if it's a teen or an elderly person going through with it. Depression is more complex than feeling sorry for one's self or needing a place to vent and then it'd all be over. Praying may again, not be always effective for the person because it doesn't always give instant results. What would it say for the person who is contemplating suicide and no answer is given to them? All it would take at that point is for them to reach for a rope or a knife. A depressed state of mind is where one is not 'themselves' and the lack of specific hormones that would be needed for them to not feel the way that they do. And while you are in your teenage years, it may not make it any easier for these victims. But it often goes ignored.
 
I used to think like you Nate. I used to be bold and brazen with my words, and to an extent I still am. I had no sense of tactfulness, no understanding of the feelings other people experience. I don't necessarily think that is you though, it seems to me like you are drawing a lot of criticism for all the wrong reasons. I just think your words have been misinterpreted in a way. So let me lay it down real fast.

When you are dealing with a person that feels there is so much wrong with life, that they consider ending it as a viable option, you have to be cautious of everything you say. You don't know what may go through another persons head when they read what you're posting. Plain text over a forum lacks the element of having character and a voice behind it. It is completely open to interpretation, it is dependent on the reader. What if they took this the wrong way and ended up hurting them-self? That's not to say if something like that happened it is on you, but it is on you to keep what I mentioned in mind. I'm not trying to harp on you man, it's just stuff to think about.

What I would do is extend an arm of friendship to anyone who feels like suicide is the only way out of their problems, and I would show them as best as I can what Christ has done for me in my life. And hopefully, it will resonate with them, and they will see that there is plenty left to live for when in fact they first believed that it was a hopeless and lost cause.

Blessings man, don't get too caught up into reasoning out why some people come to an unreasonable solution for their various issues and dilemmas. Satan influences us daily and it is up to us to resist the dark power he wields against us. We forget how formidable it can be if we aren't diligent in warding it off at all times.
 
Please stop assuming things. You don't know the half of it. I know people who have done everything possible to save someone's life. Don't say that they aren't doing anything, or not making a difference, because you are wrong. Have some respect for people.
