A comedian once observed that single people get weirder over time because they consider themselves normal and they don't have anybody else to measure what is "normal" against. There is nobody to tell them, "Don't EVER do that in public." So they just out here living their lives, with no idea that something they do is weird, because they don't have someone to tell them what they are doing is strange.

So with that in mind... What are you having for breakfast today?

This morning I popped a can of refried red beans, mixed in a bit of honey mustard and then poured some puffed cheez-its (think Cheetos, but in little squares) in like they were cereal. It's delicious, but I wouldn't try to get anybody else to eat it.

Sometimes I eat a tuna sandwich for breakfast. I get a lot of flak about that one. "TUNA? For BREAKFAST? That's way too early for tuna!" So what time does a stomach open for business? You tell me.

Are you having something besides cereal, oatmeal, sausage, bacon, biscuits and/or eggs on this fine morning?

It's funny because I guess there is/was a social media trend called "Girl Dinner," where women posted pics and videos of themselves eating casual plates of snacks/easy foods/whatever was on hand as dinner.

"Single Breakfast" sounds like the next trend in the making.

Right now my Single Breakfast is coffee -- with stevia and powdered milk as creamer.

Once the coffee wakes up my brain, and my brain wakes up my stomach, I'll let you know if it decides to head to the fridge. :p

When I was a little boy we had fried bluegill for breakfast. If my parents didn't have any money for a breakfast, my Dad would go down to the creek and catch a "mess". Mom would have them fried crispy golden when we got up. It was a real treat; we never went hungry.

God let me live in some of the best times ever!

Thank you to the moderator for moving this to the appropriate forum. I absent-mindedly started this thread in miscellaneous for some odd reason.

My tired teacher/mom brain needs a break because as I was reading the OP I literally read this part and stopped at "honey"
This morning I popped a can of refried red beans, mixed in a bit of honey
and thought "okay, I know this is going to bring up some weird food combos, but bit of honey mixed with refried beans  "...
I quickly realized that I had paused in the middle of a sentence where there was no pause and because of such I missed
mustard and then poured some puffed cheez-its (think Cheetos, but in little squares) in like they were cereal
...

My mind was stuck thinking:

That would be more like a Japanese dessert. They are big on using red bean paste, for texture, and sweetening it.

Hey, someone has stevia in their drinks besides me? I was putting a dash of heavy cream in coffee for a while but to not have so much LDL cholesterol, I now put almond coconut creamers…today’s flavor was pumpkin pie

That treat sounded good! And tuna for breakfast sounds very healthy. I don't think I've ever done that, never came to mind. :)

A good friend has helped me to start eating fresh fruit and veggies for breakfast with health targets. Avocado, artichoke hearts, broccoli, ginger, kale, dandelion leaves, orange and some other common fruits. Sometimes I'll also eat some sausage/egg.

I used to eat oatmeal or cream of wheat for breakfast, but it doesn't interest me anymore. I'm a bit skeptical of its health benefits or lack thereof.

Today’s breakfast was a bowl of left over fried rice, a bowl of cocoa pebbles, an orange zevia, a creamy root beer zevia and a cold brew coffee with a pinch of stevia, with added almond cocoanut creamer, pumpkin pie flavored

I was hoping the stevia sweetener would be my go-to for coffee, and even cola (cause I stay away from fructose/corn syrup), but after trying it, I just don't like it. It might not make sense to say it's too sweet when you can use less, but at any amount it's too sweet, so to speak, for me. I just go with cream or whole milk, sometimes chocolate or honey. And I'm decaf.

If I have avocados on hand, my breakfast is however many are ripe. Whether it's two or five, they are gone before I go to w*rk.

i always eat breakfast immediately upon getting up. i enjoyed 2 strips of north country clairemont new hampshire bacon with 2 extra large farm eggs (from our farm), 1 cup of jamaican blue mountain medium roast whole bean coffee, a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, 2 slices of whole wheat toast, blueberries, & an orange & 1 half glass of well water i always eat the fruit first at every meal.

As someone who eats oatmeal just about every morning, I'm probably too boring for this thread. But, I noticed you mentioned tuna for breakfast and thought I'd mention that every once in a great while I'll break from my usual overnight oats to have something different. Sometimes I make a tasty tuna omelette.

You are not alone. While I don't like anything at all in my coffee, I did try to like stevia in other things. But, it's just not for me. For me, I think it's the after taste that I wasn't keen on.

Some people I know like to put cardamom in coffee. A lot of other people I know don't know what cardamom is...

I don't drink coffee myself, the cardamom is an interesting flavor so I guess it couldn't hurt.

It seems to be popular to put butter in coffee. Not margarine, real butter. But butter makes everything better, so it has to improve coffee too.

Today's single breakfast is a can of mackerel and some chipotle aioli (basically spicy garlic mayo prototype) on whole wheat Ritz crackers.

With every bite I give thanks that nobody else is here to annoy with the smell. Except the dog, and he just wants a bite.
