Good men have "White Knight Syndrome". They can't help themselves. It's hardwiring to help a damsel in distress.

You don't have to be a schlub who is incompetent at doing anything besides putting on clothes and makeup...but needing a guy's help is a sure fire way to gain his attention. As well as offering up a gratitude meal...single guys are always up for a good meal.

If OP is having a hard time dressing herself I dont think a man should be the one to help her.

my advice, wear simpler clothes that you can just pull on. No buttons in the back.
 
it is annoying when little boys cant tie their own shoelaces and they feel a bit wet....

also what is the deal with...ties?
 
I am sure the reasons why mum gave me a bowl cut was because it was easier...if I had long hair she would have to fuss and braid it and comb it all the time. I didnt know thats what some mothers did and actually liked to do.

You are still not getting it...

He is saying that the woman should "play the helpless act" ("need help") to get attention - but, not to overdo it. (i.e. - "don't be too helpless")

but why?

why act stupid when you can BE stupid? to get attention? Thats not going to work anyway

Oh I need help adding up equations. A smart man will say why not use a calculator. He may help you but that wont mean he has to marry you. And if you keep asking for help it will be annoying. Otherwise he'll just think you are dim when you are not...and he'll treat you like a dimwit.
 
so...you are the rescuing hubby ....my wife I pulled out of a ditch but now have a problem, she keeps on falling just to get my attention

I mean real smart, just go deliberately swim in a dangerous rip and hope a lifeguard comes to rescue you - I dont think it works that way, plus there is plenty of chance you are going to drown if you do that. Or you'll get a warning.

Give it up man. Some people are helpless in a way that you can't help.
