The best way to meet friends on here is to post in the forums. There's alot of weirdos and perverts on here, so inviting anyone to message you is very unwise. Not all the men are men, and not all the ladies are women.
I would follow the advice of blue_ladybug and let the members get to know you first and for you to know them. There are a lot of good people on this site but first it would be wise to get acquainted first. I grew up in Michigan outside of Detroit and then lived in Lansing for a few years. Dental assisting is a good field to enter and wish the well in this endeavor.
