For those of you who don't know what a life hack is, it is any nifty little trick that you have learned that makes life just a little bit easier. And those little things definitely add up! As someone who is fairly new to all the "adulting" that is required when one is no longer mooching off their parents and has their own house to keep up, food to cook, and everything in between, I'm super interested to see what others have learned along the way to make things go a little more efficiently.

One thing that I've learned recently is that you can buy Wool Dryer balls to replace dryer sheets. These somehow magically make your laundry dry faster (by about 20 minutes for me), and also you can add essential oils to them to scent the laundry. Using these save you money by reducing the time you are using electricity and by no longer needing to buy dryer sheets. And no more stray dryer sheets laying around trying to get you to step on them and slip!

What life hacks do you use?

I figured out that you don't need a knife to spread mustard if you have a solid slab of cheese. Works just as well.

Minimize your belongings. Clean-up/laundry/etc. will be less time consuming.

I have no idea what dryer sheets even are.
I just hang my washing out to dry on the line and the sun and wind dries it without me needing to buy anything.

Dryer sheets are made to accompany the clothes while acting as a softerner or rinse instead of using one in the washer.

My clothes ar3e sun dried also, but I do know about dryer sheets..

Throw out all your socks and buy a LOT of pairs of all one kind. Preferably black, as those can go with anything in current society.

I vow I will never match another pair of socks again! Stupid time-sucking waste!

Turn off the TV. It's a waste of life and you don't need anyone else (especially them) in your head!

Now, this is a hard one! I definitely agree with you, but between my husband and I, we have a LOT of... stuff. Books, instruments, etc... I will say that we did go through the clothes that we don't use and threw 3 trashbags out (donated rather), and that in itself was a big accomplishment for us!

That's a really good one! I tend to keep 2 different types of socks for my husband because one type fits me better and I can use them when I run out of my own... But perhaps I should just buy more of my own socks lol I will have to look into that.

This advice socks.

One hack that I wife discovered is that to remove baked-in stuff on pans and casserole dishes easily is to add a little Dawn, fill with water and add a dryer sheet on top. Let soak 5 or 10 minutes and the stuff easily is removed with a scouring pad. Harden stuff comes right off. Tremendous time saver.

I once went 5 years without turning the TV on. I will say however that it is cheap entertainment albeit a bit mindless. I prefer to read but that's just me.

Always keep two friends: One who is good with computers and one who is good with cars.

If you are one of those people who is good with either computers or cars, keep one friend who is good with the other one.

Never assume somebody is deliberately being rude to you unless the evidence is overwhelming. If you are wrong, you will act unfairly to him. If you are right, reacting to him will only make things worse.

This one simple rule has saved me a lot of drama and high blood pressure.
