Yes, but if you're reading the Bible and praying only the way you're taught in church you'll probably get bored. Just being honest.
I look at the Bible as God showing his kingdom, but it contains religion. It's actually a practical guide for living life... in every way. In the garden of eden it was a utopian society where man was given abundance (every tree except 1) and yet man fixated on the minor 1 tree he didn't have. It's helpful for understanding God, people, yourself, and society as a whole. It shows you what societies work and do not. It teaches consequences for not including God and sining against God. But it also shows mercy and compassion from God.
It's a practical guide for business and finances. There's a reason jews are such a low population and yet have such a high percentage of the riches. Christians also have a great deal of the riches. But there are rules you must follow... and it's in the Bible. You are suppose to "leave an inheritance for your children's children." The parables that speak about money are talking about millions in them, but most people today don't understand what it's worth in today's society. Jesus was also rich, yet for our sakes became poor. When a king was born they inherited riches. That's why the 3 kings came to Jesus to worship him and give his inheritance... from God! That's also why king Herod felt threatened enough to kill all boys under 2.
But Christians today say oh no..... he wasn't rich. God says money is evil. He does not. He made it (gold) and even in Genesis said "God made gold. And the gold of the land was good." In the old testament God had to specifically say how rich Abraham was and in what bc people today would say....oh he meant he was "spiritually rich."
You will find your purpose reading the Bible. Aka your purpose is to serve man and be creative. It's not a coincidence that it also tends to produce great wealth, depending on how many people you serve. For example if you sell things online you make more money bc you're serving more people. This is a law to success. Evil people of course use it, but it's a law Christians can use as well. You're purpose also includes spreading God's word and telling people about God so their soul will be saved.
Praying is boring if you don't believe in it.... but if you believe God cares about you and your worries, prayer is effective. I don't repeat the same requests anymore. I ask once and then thank him that he's working on it and answering for me. Similar to if I asked my dad for something. I rarely ask for things (that pride ego) from my parents, but have in an emergency. When my dad says yes, I simply thank him every time. I don't keep asking bc know he keeps his word. God said he will give you the desires of your heart and I believe him. I'm asking for people to be healed, which he also fully supports and does. So there's no reason for it to not get answered. But I ask for things for myself too bc I believe nothing good happens without God and I like to have good days. 😆
