When Adam sinned, God did not immediately put Adam to death

if that statement is true, God's Word falls apart at Gen 2:17 ... in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

In the text, the words shalt surely die are translated from the Hebrew word mûṯ and the Hebrew word mûṯ is actually repeated in the text so that it reads in the day that thou eatest thereof mûṯ mûṯ.

In English, we should read the verse as in the day that thou eatest thereof dying thou shall die.

When Adam and Eve ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, there was a death that occurred right when they ate and what died was that which was most vital to their life ... that which allowed them to have the close communion with God.

In Gen 3:8, when God called to them, they tried to hide themselves from God that, my friend, was a result of the death which occurred when they ate.

The fact that their physical death did not occur for many years does not mean they did not die in the day that they ate of the tree ... it just bears out the truth of mûṯ mûṯ (dying thou shall die).

I know they still died spiritually, im aware of that. and im also aware theres no indication that adam was decieved. but not everything is seen. Eve could have told adam the same story she had been told.

We dont know exactly,, and did adam fully get it. he saw his wife eat and not die a physical death. did adam know God ment they would die a spiritual death ?

Because it doesnt say.

Anyway what ever you feal theres plenty of reasons more we should forgive them.

If I waited for some in my life to repent before I would forgive I'd be drinking poison and expect a healing.
Forgiveness reflects the heart of the person. I've seen people apologize to another for a offence and still feel bitter toward that person.
Jesus said "forgive them for they no not what they do" . I believe in some situations the implications of the trespass goes farther than what is seen or heard.
Sort of like a spark near a gas can. Forgiveness can be the extinguisher .
Forgiveness spoils the plot of satan to ruin your prayer life, to harden your heart, to cause bitterness, in the hearts of those who try to walk upright.
Flesh will be flesh. Expect rumors, lies, miscommunication, backbiting, gossip, hatred, evil, contempt,
These are the works of satan to enter in the hearts of the up right to rob them of the joy and peace that God has given them. To discredit there testamony, to bring them to a place of shame and become imprisoned by there own pride or self righteousness.

Fair enough. Do you believe that we should pursue issuing apologies to those we have offended with the same intensity that we aim to forgive them?

I'm not talking about the perpetually offended person demanding an apology for the slightest perceived offenses - Yes... These people exist, even on these forums.

I see lots of talk about forgiving people and moving on whether they repent, verbally apologize, or otherwise, but the Bible has just as much to say about forgiving others as it does about repenting to other people when they're wrong.

Possibly, due to pride and hypocrisy, there aren't many people capable of giving a lesson of how to reconcile with a brother or sister. Those kind of talks usually devolve into accusations of having planks in the eye - sometimes they aren't wrong. But more importantly the point is lost when people try to justify themselves by pointing out the unrighteousness of others.

No progress made. Usually easier to just leave people to their own devices than disturb their fragile egos.

Furthermore, people often weaponize forgiveness and apologies.

What do you do in with these kind of issues I've brought up?
