Yes I know it’s not just music style. Not really sure what your question is though. So you really didn't answer the question. Differences such as this are the reason for denominations. It's not just music style and clothing.

Please ignore my last sentence.mm
I wonder if Jesus said do this and do that to be a member of the church.
Let's take baptism as per above (but there is more).
If you believe that you can only be saved if you were baptised in the name of Jesus only then you could be a member of the church, along with speaking in tongues.
If not you can't be a member.
If neither of the above is not applicable to you or me then we would not be allowed to be a member.
Some denominations don't allow membership unless you have been baptised in the name of the Father/Son/Holy/Spirit.
Very sad.
So the thief on the cross isn’t a member? Or possibly John the Baptist? No death bed conversions? Please ignore my last sentence.
Just to clarify.
If you haven't been baptized at all then you cannot become a member.
Never said that.So the thief on the cross isn’t a member? Or possibly John the Baptist? No death bed conversions?
Did you read my previous post to your post above? So the thief on the cross isn’t a member? Or possibly John the Baptist? No death bed conversions?
Ohh gotcha. My apologies i think I read it wrong. I think all believers should be baptized but if the Spirit is not calling them to do so then they are just getting wet for no reason. Then the person feels like they didn’t do something right. A lot of the doctrines out there end up pressuring someone to do something they’re not ready for or it pushes them away.Never said that.
I was staring what I have heard and seen and experienced.
I have been told I was not saved because I did not speak in tongues.
Should the local church preach the gospel to its congregation? The gospel of Jesus Christ is how he died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Shouldn't those in the local assembly already have this checked off? Isn't church about equipping the saints through the preaching of the word to walk as children of light? When people hear the same message over and over, they do not mature in their faith but remain babes in Christ.
Thoughts??
No neee to apologise.Ohh gotcha. My apologies i think I read it wrong. In Gods timing for everything.Ohh gotcha. My apologies i think I read it wrong. That's heretical teaching, so no Christian should want to be part of that church. If you believe that you can only be saved if you were baptised in the name of Jesus only then you could be a member of the church, along with speaking in tongues.
If not you can't be a member.
I was once refused membership in a baptist church because I wasn't baptized in a baptist church. Some denominations don't allow membership unless you have been baptised in the name of the Father/Son/Holy/Spirit.
Agree 100%. I’m not real big on the having to schedule it and wait til Sunday morning either. I was baptized in a tub in someone’s yard in the middle of nowhere. I don’t remember Phillip telling the Ethiopian he had to wait til Sunday services. If someone is ready to be baptized at 2am on a Tuesday then find a swimming pool. And just a tip most hotels will let you use their pools for baptisms whether you’re staying there or not. The baptism is not about the audience, it’s about that person and Christ. No neee to apologise.
Yes it was a bit confusing.
Based on my experience of baptising people is not necessarily not wanting to be baptised.
The issue is that they are pressed to give some great testimony and speak before loads of people.
Some have felt that they need to be good not sin do good works to be baptised.
And sadly that can be the result of preaching in the church.
It's a case of don't do this or that.
Some are not comfortable before loads of people and that's ok.
Some are and that's ok.
I have baptised people after telling them that you don't have to give big speach.
The relief released them and all they said was "I want to be baptized because I believe in Jesus and what he has done for me"
I cannot imagine in the early church that people had to give a big testimony.
I agree. That's heretical teaching, so no Christian should want to be part of that church.

Amen and amen.Agree 100%. I’m not real big on the having to schedule it and wait til Sunday morning either. I was baptized in a tub in someone’s yard in the middle of nowhere. We as belivers are the church.
The church and Christians should be and walk the gospel.
No need preach it, be it, walk it and people will see it and people will want to know more.
Jesus did that.
I believe the biblical method of sharing the gospel was demonstrated by Paul. Believers should share the gospel in public and house to house (privately).
Acts 20:
20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,
21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
How is it that you interpret a demonstration as "restrictions"?Really! So there're restrictions?
