Should a Christian tithe, what does the Bible say

Dead wrong. There is nothing in Scripture that supports that statement. "Tithe" = "tenth" and it is of the Law.

Biblically a tithe paid in cash should be 12% ((per Leviticus 27)) as I've explained multiple times. A tithe required of living creatures/souls cannot be lawfully paid with coin.

Yes, I do not see a tithe as a Christian duty, I see giving as an act of something you do but not a command. Paul instructed believers to lay up and give, especially to those that do minister. The tithe IMO has been a burden on those to have to pay in accordance with Malachi. I have heard believers in anger say "it feels like another bill," simply because someone has told them it pleased God, that is a strong trap to fall into and the joy of giving is lost.

I had a miracle recently, I had gone out for the day running errands and I didn't have any money left in my wallet by the time I got home. I checked my wallet later and it was full of money! I never went to the ATM and my mom didn't put the money in it, I asked her about it and she didn't have a clue and she's not a liar. It wasn't $10,000 though, it was $100 but I was thankful that God blessed me.

Now I'm not saying that God is a bank where you can make instant withdrawls, God will bless you if and when He wants to.

If a person's position is that the only reason a Christian is not under Law to tithe is because the Levitical Priesthood is changed, such that a person teaches all non-sacrificial Law is still binding on Gentiles who come to faith, then what about the following?

Deuteronomy 14:28-29
At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay [it] up within thy gates: And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which [are] within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.

This tithe is not just for Levi it's for all the poor. Would a person whose doctrine is that we are all under all the Law except for sacrifices then still be compelled to give a tenth ((12% if with coin)) to the poor, or face judgement by this Law?

For every two out of three years the tithe of your increase is for YOU, and you share a portion of that, at your discretion, with those who have no means of support of their own (widows, foreigners, orphans, ministry workers).

Only in the third year is the tithe of your increase given exclusively to those who have no means of support. What I want to know is why those who want to be so insistent on obeying the law of the tithe miss this fundamental instruction about tithing.

I figure if you're going to tithe because the law says that you are to tithe then you should also do it the way the law says to do it.

If you're an American then you know how welfare can be foolishly misguided and bankrupt a city, state, and nation.

If I "tithe my age", I pay less than $5.00. I don't think the pastor thought that through very well.

They must be in the 3rd year of tithing where all of it goes to the storehouse in the house of God. I bet last year was too. And the year before that.

I once went to one like that...for some reason the entire thing folded...school and all

I don't think God liked the money begging and giving favors to people who had actually put a mortgage on their house to help pay for the ginormous edifice to his glory the pastor wanted to build while waving a Bible

gee I think I just got too serious
