I should say at the onset here, I am not single, but only speak on this issue as it pertains to one’s singularity with the Lord.

It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. (Ephesians 5:12)

Thank God so little sexual content is mentioned on this website! Yet, is there a ministry there? Of course. Is there cause for discipleship along these lines? I would contend, limitedly, a case-by-case basis for support, otherwise in general, no. It takes an individual’s bearing down (1 John 2:14). It would be more in tune to bring to light some fundamental pointers of precept to grant that quick vision on one’s victory. That is, if someone’s sexual sensation has become a problem, it might take more than to simply advise the sufferer to ‘Snap out of it’, as in (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Some of us I would venture, are not very good at snapping out of it. Sensation should be as God intended; within our control to project at the appropriate time, such as for newlyweds and not to be harassed by. If this is a current condition that isn't being controlled by the sufferer as he knows it should, then it's time to come and share an available spot at the table shared by many, wherein we all "received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”. But the sufferer often times knows this and is what he wants, but the sensation continues. Not only is uncontrolled sensation unhealthy to our spiritual relationship to Him, but unhealthy to that loss of self-control.

Today, we have many things to turn to aid in that V-13s "escape". Indeed, we "trust, , in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy." (1Timothy 6:17). But sometimes, life can offer us a change of course wherein that primary unhealthy condition is once again staring us in the face, who knows, possibly all alone, just you and the Lord who knows all about our struggles. We have to accept this as a truth. That is why I advise myself to remember an important turning point that helped me gain the victory which is based in that passage I consider a dovetail to V-13,

"The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.” (Luke 5:35)

Why fast? Because, flesh needs to be under your control, that's spoken of elsewhere too. If sensation is at the point of temptation, then God, your helper needs to be near. "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." (James 4:8) Sensation is threatening to take the Bridegroom from our presence through our weakness, not His. How fast did I see results? The very same day, not drawn out at all!!!

As any sufferer who does as advised, I am confident, this will be of immense benefit in walking with Him. Hallelujah!

I speak from personal experience. I was never able to gain self-control until I actually did decide to "snap out of it." I tried everything; I had a lot of help from others along the way; but I discovered what was required for me was to wake up and realize I had to want it more than I've ever wanted anything. Then, I had to submit to God and be willing to do whatever it took. Discipleship might help or support groups; but I learned it was really between me and God and that's where the answers are.

Thank God! As to the point of voicing this, may secretly display a whole spectrum of disapproval to full agreement of the onlooker. As that pendulum moves towards those opposed (commensurate to the tally of views), will surely increase in this world of torment our despisers are not aware. May I repeat? Due to so little attention being made known to the sufferer of this onslaught*, "knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. " (1Pet 5:9), this darkness which grants Satan huge swaths of people's lives continues. Consider well, how entrenched the world of groomers has become to spare our beloved!

'Ya never stop learning', isn't that how they put it? I knew this would be met with opposition, but not to the point of shunned critique. Still, learning taught me sometime back, prudence also rest. God bless.

Nearest I can tell, he is saying masturbation is bad and once you stop doing it you will start seeing the blessings of God in your life.

With a metric ton of fluff thrown in.

If I got it wrong, maybe he can correct me in two simple sentences. I hope. Please?

I just reread the whole thing slowly and I don't see anywhere masturbation is mentioned unless it's in a very cryptic fashion. That's why I'm confused by the whole thing it's so convoluted 🤔 😕

I didn't say I was 100% certain my translation was correct. I'm giving, like, 60% chance.

The OP is talking to people who suffer from an obsession with unhealthy sexual thoughts and practices. He says oftentimes discipleship efforts to help these people are probably not enough and the person must find, on their own, and with the Lord's help, ways to overcome. He then goes on the suggest possible ways to do this.

An unhealthy lack of self-control can interfere with a good relationship with the Father. A person may know in their head they're a child of God, but can't connect on a meaningful level. He offers fasting as one method to quell the temptation. This may help some people, but for me personally it was no help at all. He says fasting will help us keep the flesh under our control; however, self-control is a gift of the Holy Spirit and the Spirit is the One who gives us control. It's really more of a mental problem than a physical one. That's why I said in my previous post that "snapping out of it" was really the only thing that ever helped me with the obsession. A compulsion or obsession is really just an unhealthy thought pattern that takes control of the mind.

Anyone who has struggled with compulsive or addictive behavior know exactly what I'm talking about.

It remains no small marvel to me of testimonies of the many lives set free by Christ's love from masturbation and any work of the flesh?

Kudos ResidentAlien ! Like many, my 'Agree' has went missing.

After ResidentAlien's statement I was satisfied that my 60% estimate was 100% correct. I got 60% of the meaning of the OP.

After pac's own subsequent statement I was more satisfied. I was more like 90% correct about the OP.

The OP is a time traveler from Early Modern English times. Gen Z'ers would think this is a foreign language altogether. Don't feel bad, I forwarded his post to the people from New King James and once I get the translation, I'll post it for all to see.

Lemme take a shot at this supposed bewilderment I have unleashed.

KJV's "works of the flesh" have come to be known nowadays as "weakness"?

A word to the wise who seeks to make some sense of EVERYTHING here. Nowadays, it doesn't matter if it's a minister or new convert, many are guilty of leading astray with their liberal theology. Make no mistake, you don't have to be outside of "the closet" to fulfill His words (Luke 6:39). This misguided leading has reached a finely-tuned level of competence that has its origins from since the beginning of the Church.

Many people have said that about many other people, in my lifetime alone. The people they are talking about usually say the same things about them.

The only winning move in that game is to not play.

Only one class of individuals would disagree with you: those whom the Spirit has been speaking to. The is one of the jobs Jesus said he (the Spirit) would be performing, drawing souls unto Himself. These are the ones spoken of in the OP I refer to as - the ''sufferer''. But few are willing to confirm what they are dealing with in this discussion. That element they are up against that those same people don't understand is their ''fix'' is actually meant to quench the Spirit's ministry. Are you still willing to tell the sufferer not to participate in the Spirit's ministry?

Yeah, the liberal people you were talking about speak like that too.
