Yes i agree, but it is true of all denominations, and even in the time of Jesus, Some people are keen to do their own will (selfisness) and others are so fanatical about doing it right that it becomes legalistic. I believe in the Sabbath and like you said it was created for man but God was clear about what we shouldn't do on the Sabbath. It becomes a delight when Jesus is at the centre of your day of rest.

To add to my previous post--I don't see any reason not to honor the sabbath and keep it holy-but never to become legalistic about it. I am still trying to sort the thing out as I just begun to study it very recently.
It is one of the 10 Commandments written by the very finger of God in STONE. Jesus said, " If you love me, you will keep my commandments." I have always attended church on Sunday. I have been looking and looking for a new church--during this time I have been studying denominations and was disturbed by all the false teaching I discovered in ALL of them. One day, I was looking at the Commandments and began to wonder why we keep all the Commandments with exception of the Sabbath--I looked up bible verses and could find nothing in the New Testament where the Sabbath was done away with. There are a number of the verses in Acts where both Jews and Gentiles gathered to hear Paul speak on the Sabbath--again they met every day, but why do meet on Sunday--that is as an assembly--only because Constantine changed Sunday to the Sabbath--it's like the inverted cross of Satanists--the Sabbath says God's work is finished. Sunday is the opposite of that. There is more than just about a day--God sanctified it--therefore it is into perpetuity..
Note that when it says let no one judge you on xyz...or on a sabbath day--this is different than THE Sabbath--these were special days, like Holidays. Again, this is not about legalism--as I said, I am still trying to come to a better understanding of this myself.
It is possible to be born again and be SDA. I've met a few who are saved. The problem is that Ellen G White was a false prophet but SDA has accepted her teachings. I was given "The Great Controversy" by someone I met. I knew nothing about the SDA at the time. I started to read the book, and I could not get past the first page. It was from the pit, not from God.
I don't know why, but there is an inclination in some people to accept what is false without question. Hyper Pentecostals say that you are not saved unless you speak on tongues. Super conservatives say that speaking in tongues is of the devil. We have Christians who think that the only reason Jesus saved us is so that we can keep the Law. Then the over the top faith/prosperity/healing movements.... need I go on?
This is not new. Most of the NT was written to counteract heretical teachings that were being promoted by some. The answer is to keep focused on Christ, who He is and what He has done for us. If people got to know Jesus better, they would be less likely to be deceived.
The whole Constantine change is more of a myth than fact.
The Bible has accurately recorded the change in Acts 20:7 even though the change does not matter. Everyday is the Sabbath as the Spirit lives in us.
Just before He did, Lord Jesus declared "It is FINISHED!" Everything to do with the old covenant is finished. It was only a shadow of what was to come anyway. I prefer the light to the shadows any time!
The real rest for the Christian comes when he quits trying to live up to God's standard. Yes, God put His law on stone. You can't have fellowship with a stone. God's intent was that His law would be written on our hearts. He intends not only to tell us what we should do, but be the power within to do it.
I was in the Navy when I got saved. Every day is pretty much the same at sea. We had most of Sunday off if we were not on shift work. But if the need arose, I was on call 24/7. I was not in a position to tell the captain I was not working because it was the sabbath. In those days, I had no idea what a sabbath was anyway.
Once I worked 3 weeks straight with only a few hours sleep a night. It's military life. God did not jump all over me because I broke His law. In the OT, a man was killed for collecting firewood on the Sabbath. Those who want to live by the law should expect to be judged by it also. I prefer to be saved by grace.
I've been saved 50 years now. Our small group fellowships daily. I've never observed the sabbath. I've survived to now!

The Sabbath was made for man .... not just the Jews
Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
And the Sabbath was made holy and sanctified at creation before Sin entered and before any race of people started.
If the Sabbath was Holy from the start when did God make it unsanctified, or take the blessing away from it? Please use the bible.
I concur with your estimation. I believe that there are flaws in any denomination that confesses to be Christian.
Actually, Ellen White herself said that she was not a prophet and therefore, no track record to speak of.

Does not the scriptures say let no one judge in regards to a sabbath day. if that is the day they choose let them praise the Lord that day!

Except that that is only half the story. Check out their teaching about the so-called "Investigative Judgment". So SDA doctrines are a mixture of truth and error. Practically an Ellen G. white cult.
Do any other Christian denominations refer to teachings besides the bible to aid them in their walk with the Lord? SDA do not follow a particular individual but rely on scripture to be their guide. Just because you do not agree with the SDA does not make that denomination a cult.
The 7th day sabbath was given to Israel. The first day of the week was given to the Church. And saying that those who worship on the first day of the week have taken the Mark of the Beast is total nonsense. There are quite a few serious errors taught by the Seventh Day Adventists. That is not about the adherents but about the denomination.
