To continue in doesn't mean never to falter. That's what you make it to mean.Pay attention to the word "if" in verse 23.
Colossians 1
[20] And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
[21] And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
[22] In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
[23] If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
You err concerning Matt 7:21-23. Jesus doesn't tell them to depart for their actions, but because He never knew them. This is why I asked you what it means to be in Christ. It's clear that there are two camps in this forum: those who believe that you can sin your way into Heaven and those who don't. Let Jesus be the Judge of sinning Christians, and He will! Depart from Me you workers of iniquity!
How have you crucified the flesh yet still engage in the works of the flesh?
So, you still engage in the works of the flesh and think you're saved? Are you saying you are without sin? I am without sin, not because I don't sin in the flesh, but because I am in Christ, the only one who is without sin.
Is the Bible not enough for you?You err concerning Matt 7:21-23. Jesus doesn't tell them to depart for their actions, but because He never knew them. This is why I asked you what it means to be in Christ.
Can you tell me in your own words what it means to be...in Christ?
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.It's clear that there are two camps in this forum: those who believe that you can sin your way into Heaven and those who don't. Let Jesus be the Judge of sinning Christians, and He will! Depart from Me you workers of iniquity!
That's the inherent problem with a living sacrifice...it keeps crawling off the altar. How have you crucified the flesh yet still engage in the works of the flesh?
It's a request. If you don't want to acquiesce, perhaps you aren't esteeming me before yourself. Some might call that sin.Is the Bible not enough for you?
That just means you want to sin your way into heaven... according to some.My relationship with God is secured to me in Christ where there is now therefore no condemnation.
I agree. But sometimes it's worth the exercise for those who passively read. I just don't hope it turns to OSAS and PennEd has to break out the list prematurely. That just means you want to sin your way into heaven... according to some.
That type are always going on about how other people sin. All the while
conveniently overlooking and/or rationalizing and justifying their own...
It's clear that there are two camps in this forum: those who believe that you can sin your way into Heaven and those who don't. Let Jesus be the Judge of sinning Christians, and He will! Depart from Me you workers of iniquity!
You're conflating ignorant sin with willful sin. If we knowingly walk in sin, we lie and do not the truth. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
Per the Apostle Paul, received from the Holy Spirit, if you engage in the works of the flesh you won't inherit God's Kingdom. That's the inherent problem with a living sacrifice...it keeps crawling off the altar.
To me, it's an attempt to circumvent the Word of God to justify a man-made doctrine which promotes that one can still fullfil the works of the flesh and inherit eternal life too. It's a request. If you don't want to acquiesce, perhaps you aren't esteeming me before yourself. Some might call that sin.
He is talking about a lifestyle of sin and not individual sins.Per the Apostle Paul, received from the Holy Spirit, if you engage in the works of the flesh you won't inherit God's Kingdom.
Galatians 5
[19] Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
[20] idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
[21] envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
I don't think you understand what eternal life is either. Can you please tell me what that is in your own words? To me, it's an attempt to circumvent the Word of God to justify a man-made doctrine which promotes that one can still fullfil the works of the flesh and inherit eternal life too.
