Irrelevant. We are talking neither about Constantine nor about the Roman empire´s official days.
"Churchgoer".. what a terrible, unlearned person that must be.
But we have you, a non-churchgoer, who is not confused by the word "day"
so you can inform us what that means.
So you think I do not go to church? what does the bible say the [church] is?
I am not the one confused about the Lords {Day} in John, this [day] referes
to [a year] long punishment on this earth , before Jesus starts the mill.
Oh wait you do not believe the bible on this regard also, the mill. raign of Christ.
What does the bible say about this day?
Isaiah 34:8 (KJV)
For it is [the day] of the Lord's vengeance,
and [the year] of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
Isaiah 61:2 (KJV)
To proclaim the acceptable [year] of the Lord,
and [the day of vengeance] of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
Isaiah 63:4 (KJV)
For [the day of vengeance] is in mine heart,
and [the year] of my redeemed is come.
Luke 21:22 (KJV)
For these be the days of vengeance,
that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
Deuteronomy 32:35 (KJV)
To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide
in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things
that shall come upon them make haste.
Jeremiah 46:10 (KJV)
For this is the day of the Lord God of hosts, a day of vengeance,
that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour,
and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood:for the Lord God
of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the
high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. Isaiah 24:21
Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from
the Almighty shall it come. Joel 1:15
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood
before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come Joel 2:31 Acts 2:20
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord
is near in the valley of decision. Joel 3:14 Acts 2:20
Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger,
to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.Isaiah 13:9
a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress,
a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess,
Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it for you?
the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light.Amos 5:18
Calling it the Jewish Old Testament makes it seem out of date and no longer useful. If Christ is the reality of Sabbath, why to return to Jewish old testament observance of the week day literally?
There are denominations that believe that every time we sin we are condemned. If we fail to ask forgiveness then we are condemned to hell. They feel terrible about people dying in car accidents that might not have asked for forgiveness.some are really saying that working on a certain week day means u can lose ur salvation/ur not saved.
thats unbelievable to me.
The Pharisees believed the sabbath was a particular day of the week.If he didn't break the Sabbath why where the Pharisees offended by his actions of healing in the temple ?
Jesus does say to keep the commandments there. And what are His commandments?
He said, These are His commandments:
Mat 19:17-19
And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments.
He saith unto him, Which? And Jesus said, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
No mention of the Sabbath,
Do you really believe God commanded us to stone people to death? With real stones?Hear Yeshua. When the woman was caught in the very act of adultery with many witnesses, far more than the three witnesses required by the law, she should have been stoned to death according to the law........Jesus argued her defense and she was aquitted. Jesus never broke the law, yet He, applying mercy allowed and argued her defense.
When we read eye for eye, it isn't a commandment. In the law it is written an eye for an eye etc........yet Yeshua teaches us not so, rather if your enemy smites yo on the cheek offer him the other as well. We are to love our enemies. Most of all we are to judge no man to condemnation for we do not reign and the King has not returned to reign as yet.
He comes quickly.when He returns He will first destroy the destroyers....... He brings justice in His hand.....so much more.
I am applying them as we speak.Of course there are laws to overlook. None of the Levitical laws may be applied for we are the priests with One High Priest.
I just got on with doing as Jesus said. There is no Israel that is a Theocracy on earth so none of the laws applying to the first Israel's country can possibly apply especially in view of the number of false theologies in place under the uimbrella called Judaism. This applies also to the false theologies under the Christianity umbrella.
Thank you.It takes much study, pdrayer and meditation to follow Jesus.......keep up the good works. God bless you always.......
I truly believe you should meditaqte on this thought.
Our Maker went to the trouble to inscribe the Ten Commandments on stone tablets only to give us the same taken from the stone tablets by God, Himself, and inscribed on our hearts when the Holy Spirit entered into us, we who believe Jesus christ.
Is this not the truth? Have we not had this changed from the stone to the fleshy tablets of our hearts?
Thank you Jaume,
I like your posts, and I agree with this one here.
You are speaking about the Lord's circumcision of the heart, are you not.
If we keep this meaning in mind when reading St Paul, and he says "the circumcision"
then he speaking of us, and not those who are circumcised externally,
then that changes a lot of the interpretations we see being advertised here.
For we are the circumcision,
which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus,
and have no confidence in the flesh.
Philippians 3:3
And I know, the circumcision occurs in the sabbath.
The coming of Jesus happens in the sabbath.
Bless![]()
Yet Paul kept YHWH's Sabbath's and Feast days post Messiah's Sacrifice;
Acts 24:14, "But I confess this to you, that after the way which they call heresy--so I worship the Father of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets."
Paul Kept Sabbath and Feasts;
Acts 18:21, “But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this Feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if Yah will. And he sailed from Ephesus.”
The Thread title is Sabbath, is it not?
"that Sunday worship unconnected to Sabbath was introduced in Rome in the 2nd century,
and was later enforced throughout the Christian church as a substitution for Sabbath worship.
some are really saying that working on a certain week day means u can lose ur salvation/ur not saved.
thats unbelievable to me.
In Europe, we start week with Monday and end it with Sunday, so Sunday is the "Seventh day".Most who believe God rest on their Sabbath, mine will always be the Seventh day.
