I am so glad it all ended well between us...sometimes we just have to let off a little steam in our ignorance...but we'll get there. Our problem is as 'short-living humans(compared to God) we are impatient and want 'instant results. Scripture says we have need of patience...it can only happen by stretching our 'endurance/suffering under adversity and staying loyal...does NOT come easy !!!

Hi, I am trying to keep God's Holy day in the correct way, I do not go to a church because there are only two churches in the village in which I live and although I have been asked to join one of them, they do not keep God's Holy day on a Saturday.

I wondered if any one else have the same problem, and if so what you do.

I know I am late getting to this. I do have something I would like to ask, it comes from the teachings I have had in the past. So if doesn't fit you, please over look this.

I told you that I don't fall for spiritual witchcraft no matter how many attempts you make - but I will give you my testimony of what the true gospel of the grace of God in Christ has done for me and it has everything to do with the Sabbath rest that is only found in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I will give you my testimony of what the Lord has done when He revealed to me my complete dependence on the gospel of the grace of Christ.

He has changed my mind ( As, only God can give true repentance ) on how I view a lot of things concerning Him and my life in Christ and of course that means all kinds of different sin - for "whatsoever is not of faith is in fact sin ".

I have posted this a few times in CC but you are new so it was probably before you joined.

I am not denying Christ in me and what He has done and I will not be duped into deserting my Lord by judaizers that try to get me to live by the law - and yes - this means the carnal keeping of the Sabbath day. I am not ashamed of the gospel - for in it is the power of God for real salvation.

I have a great passion for Christ!..here is what knowing Him because of the revelation of the gospel of the grace of Christ has done for me.

I was praying one morning and thinking about how the grace of Christ has affected me. I had the scripture come up in my spirit where the Pharisees were arguing about whether a man was born blind or not after Jesus healed him.

Of course the Pharisees were trying to discredit the message of Jesus. The man said.." All I know is that I was born blind but now I see."

This is what the gospel of the grace of Christ has done in my life:

I realize that these beliefs in the grace of God....especially the acceptance grace, repentance from dead works and the total forgiveness that Jesus bought and paid for with His blood....that these can be offensive to our religious beliefs and what we have been taught in church. (they were initially to me as well )

This gospel of the wondrous grace of Christ has had a beautiful affect on me. I am more in love with Jesus and the Father more then ever....in love with studying His word....praying in the spirit constantly with a heart full of joy!

This gospel has given me a compassion for other people and to reach out in love to them. To give more than I ever have with a heart full of love.

To live a holier life in Him...which is not only living separate from the "biggie sins" but everything that He reveals about anything that is contrary to life and His nature that is in me....this has led me to be a witness of the life and love of our Lord in me.

If these are the horrible fruit of the grace of Christ in me....I want more!.....give me more grace please my Lord and God!


I am living a much fuller life now, more deeply in love with Jesus and the Father then ever before or ever dreamed was possible and I am just starting.

I am free from the horrible religion of self-effort, having the love of God pour out in me to help others now that I understand the grace that is in Christ then I did when I was doing the self-performance based gospel ( which is not the gospel )

I was blind but now I see. I see Jesus and His finished work for me!

They observe these things to see Christ as the fulfillment of them - not as something they "need" to do now.

This group has excellent teachings on how Christ has fulfilled the Law and show Christ in every part of the Old Testament - including the Sabbath Day rest. Jesus said that all the scriptures speak about Him.

This group of believers are a major blessing to us in the body of Christ and are not Judaizers such as Paul encountered and that are also in the extreme sects of Hebrew Roots that say believers in Christ must "observe the Sabbath and the feasts like in the law of Moses - or they are dis-obeying God and sinning".

Those - run away from as fast as you can as they are perverting the gospel just like Paul said they are doing! - but do not put all Hebrew Roots people in the same boat as the extreme sects because they are not the same.

I don't know what others do, but when God says the wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23) and God's Word tells us that sin is the transgression of God's Law (1John 3:4) we must believe God. And if God tells us that if we break one of God's commandments we are guilty of breaking all of His Laws (James 2:10). Sounds like a pretty good case for walking with God on the day he has commanded His people to follow in the 4th commandment (Ex 20:8-11). God's people follow Jesus because they have faith and believe His Words. They are also described as the last day people in the book of Revelations.

"Here is the patience of the saints, here are they who keep the commandments of God and the Faith of Jesus (Rev 14:12)

It is ok I do not mind. But if someone gives you the Word of God to answer a question you pose you should not say it does not answer your question when it obviously does. Questions;

1. If people don't observe the Sabbath day from Friday night until Saturday as the law of Moses speaks about - are they disobeying God and sinning? Thank you for being honest with us here so that we can see what is really being said.

2. I see that you still have not answered my question for the 3rd time - do you believe that our loving Father sends His beloved children that are babies in Christ to hell?

Answers;

“And in times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent. Because he hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.” (Acts 17:30-31)

“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.” (Heb 10:26-27)

Another words in times of ignorance God does not hold us accountable to things we do not know about, but when God sends us a knowledge of the truth and we willfully reject God’s Word, there is nothing else that God can do to save us. Ceremonial laws are shadows used n parables.... they do nothing for the believer other than point a head as the gospel to a suffering savoir and the glory that followed the reformation. The reformation has come the use of authentic Jewish descent came to an end .

Yes ma'am, I am too . ~ Reading and engaging in the forums causes me to imagine what the first followers of Jesus must've gone through in their passion to share all they believed. At least here in this forum, the only threat of "losing one's head" is when we become emotional to our cause.

So by the law is a knowledge of sin, ok lets accept that and take a look:

Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Oh So according the bible it is sin to not remember the Sabbath? No that is not what it says, It says "Sabbath day" to keep it holy. So it is talking about the rest day, not the rest, but he rest day. It also tells us when it was made holy way back a creation a finished work of God. not a work to come a finished one.

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

There it is, a finished work. Before sin mind you so nothing to be repented of at all here. Jesus came to get rid of sin not the day God blessed and made Holy. According to the commandment one remembers this day and keeps it holy by simply not working on that day. Not hard not even works its literally the opposite of works its not working. That's how it is kept holy by not working as it says:

But what law is here being spoken of, Is it the 10 commandments? No. Notice what it says:

If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, This is talking about the work of the levitical priesthood which came before or after the 10 commandments?

Correct after the 10 commandments. It is the levitical law which is found in the book of Leviticus. That law was concerning the priests form the tribe of Levi thus the reason it says:

"what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?"

Now we know that the priests were to minister for those who had broken the law of God the 10 commandments. But now that the priesthood has changed the law concerning the priesthood must also change. Thus this verse:

12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

Not hard really and Ill say again, If the priesthood changed then reason can see that the law concerning the priesthood must change also. The law said tribe of Levi through Aaron.

Heb 7:14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

notice the point made here, There is another tribe other than Aaron. Jesus did not come from the tribe of Levi of which Moses in the Levitical law did not say anything about.


Heb 7:15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

how is this evident? because the scriptures of the Old testament teach this as quoted later here:

Heb 7:17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Heb 7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

That is how they knew the Old testament shows that the one who would come is going to be a priest but from a different order than Aaron"s. So Hebrews teaches the change form scripture not just their own private interpretation, they have evidence form Gods word in the Old Testament that this is the case. You have zero evidence that the Sabbath has changed thus you can't show it from the Old Testament.

Anyway continuing:

Heb 7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

Jesus was not made after a Carnal commandment. Meaning simply a flesh commandment. The tribe of Levi were men, Aaron was a man like we are. He dies and all his sons would die. But Jesus is not like us in that respect he lives forever hence the scripture quoted in verse 17, "Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec".

This whole passage is about the priesthood.

Flesh priesthood that dies or Divine priesthood who lives forever. To use this to try and change what the bible says in exodus and Genesis is just an attempt to excuse oneself from Gods ways.

Ill tell you what Jesus did not change, The work He did in the beginning before Sin entered this world. The priesthood had to change, because it was prophecies it would in the Old Testament. The only prophecies convening the 7th day Sabbath in the Old testament testify that it will still be for gentiles after the saviour comes.

Ps without the 10 commandments there would have been no purpose or reason for the levitical law at all. No need for a priest at all. So the fact that Jesus becomes a priest forever tells you something.

Its interesting that one of the goals of the disciples was to reach the Jewish community as well as the gentiles. Paul speaks much on his desire for the Jews to come to a knowledge of Scripture.

In order to reach a Jew you must be able to prove your point from the scriptures. For a Jew that is the Old Testament, While we today accept the new testament as scripture also this was not so for Jews then or today and it was not so even for the disciples. The new testament was simply letters and testimonies that the prophecies of the messiah had come true in Jesus and that letters were the disciples mostly Paul trying to show the truth by way of the Old Testament. Thus they constantly quote the Old Testament to back up any teaching they make.

I can teach the change of temple form the Old Testament.
I can teach the change of circumcision and its true meaning form the Old Testament.
I can teach the new covenant from the Old Testament.
I can teach that sacrifices would cease from the Old Testament.
I can teach that the priesthood would change form the Old testament.
But you know that you can not teach that the 10 commandments would cease or change in the Old Testament.
You can not teach that God would change the 7th day Sabbath.

But you can teach that the 7th day Sabbath will continue in heaven from the Old Testament
You can teach that the 7th day Sabbath is for Gentiles also in the Old Testament.
You can also teach that the 7th day Sabbath would continue after the messiah came from the Old Testament.

Because like Paul taught:

2Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Paul was Talking to Timothy who grew up on the Old testament as scripture. Paul said all this about the Old Testament.

Jesus proved who he was by the Old Testament:

Luk 24:46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
Luk 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Luk 24:48 And ye are witnesses of these things.

If you can't establish your point form the Old Testament then your point is private interpretation. If you think you can prove your point from the new but not the old then you have simply made a private interpretation that makes one witness of God disagree with another witness of God.

The Old testament is the scriptures, The new is a witness to their/the OT accuracy and to them being the word of God and true and trustworthy.

Yet take note that they can not teach their view of the 7th day Sabbath by the scripture of the OT. Thus they pit the second witness against the first.
