I thought it was a grain...........I thought it was kernel?
I thought it was a grain...........I thought it was kernel?
Nobody wants kernels in their popcornIn American English you are correct but British English differs. Confusion reigns supreme!!!
Kernel is seed. So a kernel of wheat would be the seed.I thought it was a grain...........
You are using a flawed translation. Corn was never grown in Israel in Biblical times. The more proper translation states heads of grain.
Matthew 12 NIV
Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath
12 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain and eat them. 2 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, “Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.”
I’m amused.. yet impressed by you knowledgable folks..
BillG had my depth on the matter of corn..corn flakes.. next I will learn there is no wheat in bix...

Incorrect. Using the name of a grain that never was grown outside the Americas during Biblical times brings discredit to the Bible. The Bible is the word of God and if something in it is proven to be a lie it discredits the whole Bible. Atheists try to do this all the time. With all due respect my six pence is: if the Disciples had picked corn, apples or even popcorn (pun intended).. it is not going to change what we take from the event... I assure you we are free to pick corn and not grain only if hungered. GOD be thanked.
I have shared from my preferred version and if the Lord allows I will continue to do so.

The KJV was translated in 1611 therefore uses language of that era which has changed much since then. Thus misunderstanding creeps in. If you are in a car accident and someone in the other car is killed are you guilty of murder?
Boy, and I thought I was being nitpicky for questioning the use of an "s" at the end of "Revelation".

It may not have said where to meet, but Convocation means public meeting. H4744- something called out, that is, a public meeting (the act, the persons, or the place); also a rehearsal. Strong's DictionaryIn the OT the Sabbath day was a day of rest... There was no requirement for them to attend the Synagogue on that day.. .
