In a way it does. Catholics claim protestants are using Sunday as the day of worship following their example.

I just started this a moment ago, and it escaped from me somehow, so here I go, forgive me if part of thisis already posted.
It seems many believe the day of worship assembly is automatically the Sabbath of the Lord. Not so! We are permitted to worship seven days a week, and all who love God do this indeed, though not every day in assembly.
The Sabbath of the Lord cannot be changed unless God says it is, for it is the Seventh Day commoration of the beginning of this age with the creation week given to all in the Book Genesis.
The Seventh Day is the only Day givn as the Rest of God, given by God, Himself.
Do not confuse the two.....

Ignatius urges the faithful to submit to the authority of their bishop because it is the will of God:

I can't even imagine the state it was in in Ignatius' era. Not to mention ours.....
They quote that verse and "supposed church history" to help support their doctrine. They do this a lot. That is why solo scripture was such a big deal in the reformation. A lot that was recorded in supposed church history did not agree with the Scriptures and therefore did not set well with Luther and others who started the reformation. You can see what the Catholics think he meant. But no man should be exulted to the stature he writes of unless Christ Himself does it. The Church was already apostatizing in Paul's time.

Lev 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
Isaiah wrote in 58:13, "If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words."
So the only thing left for one to do on the Sabbath would be GOD's work and worship. Right?
However one might argue that they were to remain in their own dwelllings. This is not the case . If this was then Jesus himself would have broken the Sabbath commandment. He did not.
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
(Luk 4:16 KJV)

They were called to rest and have an holy convocation. A holy gathering.

In point of fact at that time bishop was just another name for an elder. Later the titles were seperated with bishop being superior to an elder. Even later the bishop of Rome was deemed superior to the rest of the bishops. That was because Rome ruled its empire. Christians lived in the empire.

Is the truth of the Word repeated since it has been givento man? Are there not new eyes to read of it daily?
If you find it worthy to criticize it may b you have tired of the work of the Word. May it be ever new to you in Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit will not contradict the Bible truth and that means we need to test all things.
