I would agree the Lord was fulfilling the scriptures and time as he ordained it and prepping us for his second advent
Indeed he is but many teachings ignore the Hebrew text of the scriptures.
The gospels are very Jewish. The teaching that I've heard not all but most almost suggest that Jesus started a new religion of sorts
When in fact the scriptures point to the fulfillment of God's plan. To unite jew and gentile in spirit and truth.
This is the what I call the great divide.
To be honest this is what the Lord has placed before me. Let me give you a few examples.
The last supper....did it ever occur to anyone that the chosen 12 had no idea until Jesus explained to them that the meal set before them was about him and his crucifixion. Why the meal was prepared the way it was? Let alone blood was not to be drunk human flesh not to be eaten so says the Torah. Now imagine the shock that there rabbi and confusion said what he said. Until he explained the manna and sacrifice and new covenant.
When Jesus said remember me when you eat and drink ....is it possible he was referring to the other feast days that they held and would see Jesus in them?
The resurrection....woman do not touch me for I have not yet ascended to the father. Yet he was handled a few days later by Thomas and others before his seen ascending.....is it possible that Jesus being our high priest as Paul writes presented himself before the father as the first fruits? ......was there 2 ascensions? The second being takings his rightful place at the right hand of the father.
Of course there's the counting of the Omer between first fruits and Pentecost. Also the wave offering.
Now the word taken was used to describe Jesus seen ascension in acts....Jesus did not fly or float but the word is taken from us in a cloud.
Paul alludes to this in the heavy debated rapture theory is discussed.
Just some things that stood out to me. Not teachings but observation.
As I always say we have a Jewish savior with 12 Jewish Apostles who had only the old testament to tell us how to be Christians.
Nice talking to you
