I found that the guys at my church have income levels that mean their social and hobbies are just too expensive for me. They talk about money a lot. The spirit of changing society to be fairer is not so strong. Here even the challenges to my posts have felt genuine and gave me growth

Yes, growth! That’s what I constantly strive for and want to thrive more in and communication is so vital for me in this season I’m in. :)

I think that if people stopped to talk more, their mental health would improve.
Everyone is in a hurry these days don't u find?

Exactly!!! But not only talk, but talk with the intent to listen as well. I’m a good listener but I find I get burnt out so quickly if I’m unable to bounce back and forth in the conversation as well. Someone could talk for 30min straight without allowing me to converse and I’ll be so tired but if we’re conversing back and forth I can talk/listen for a couple hours. Lol.

That’s actually one of the things the Lord keeps reminding me about: slowing down. Even tho I’m not as fast as others I can still get caught up in the hustle-bustle and just forget about God in the daily life. And if Jesus is not at the center than the rest of my relationships and life suffer more than my circumstances make me suffer. :)

If you work in a city it's very hard to keep slow as everyone around in a rush. I think time zones on on this chat do make it difficult to keep in touch with good people as I am in London and most people are in the USA.
I grew up watching little house on the prairie. I often wonder if I will ever have a slower like like the past times.

I’m used to talking to people in different time zones 😂 my best friend is two hours behind me right now and soon to he six as she is moving to another time zone but we’re not gonna let that stop us.
I live in a city too. It is indeed hard. I grew up on Little House on the prairie too. I want a balance of slow and fast too. I think the world got a taste of it last year in quarantine. To just slow down and how we all need it.

So much has changed since I was last on here! Introduce yourselves, share a meme, ask me questions! Looking for wholesome, fun, random and Godly conversations! :D
Glad to have you back into the fold. The most wholesome, fun, random and Godly conversations happen in the Speak Your Mind thread in the Bible Discussion Forum. Hope to see you there.

I think in time I will move to a place near the coast because the city is just so expensive and doesn't have so many benefits...

Haha, I want something between country and city. I don't like dead center city, but I also don't want to be 30min away from the nearest grocery store or neighbor. LOL. Where I'm at now is kinda nice because I'm like at a crossroads, I can go in any direction I need and be in places and meet people without feeling like I'm on an island alone.

I do think that access to people is imperative to our sanity. I think that green space is important too. But housing is just soooo expensive

I've learned that those with most money are not living the best lifestyle

Though I tend to agree, I also have to be careful not to judge based solely on that either. Scripture talks about those who he blesses with abundant wealth and how they should use it and what their character should be like (which of course is the same as if you had no wealth. Lol). Have to find where I was reading that this year but I believe it was in the books of Timothy. Great reads!

I guess what I meant was that the nicer and richer neighbourhoods often have residents that are not so genuine. Im my experience
