Just been reading through the posts. Not one mention of Extol? or even Narnia? or any of the awesome christian Doom metal bands out there?

Right, what does everyone think on secular metal?

i agree that you should be careful about the bands you listen to. i really like skillet and underoath and there christian so i listen to them a lot
 
Aren't skillent not really metal and Underoath are hardcore?

(still good though)
 
I personally just finished clearing my ipod of secular music. I find there is no need to listen to it, when there are christian bands out there that are just as good and sometimes better. Although I wish a christian band would come out with a feel like RATM has, that would be AWESOME!
 
I know, me as well. Shame that NO ONE can re-create anything close to that sound :(
 
Talking of which are we allowed to include Bands that have christian members but secular lyrics?

So I could count,

Iron Maiden and Megadeth here :D
 
Not a fan of either. I'm sure you aren't going to gret in trouble for posting them. But keep in mind when you say christian members, are they actually christians? A lot of people profess to be christians, but with their life style clearly show they aren't.
 
I;'m sure about Nicko Mcbrain from Iron Maiden.

I'm not too sure on the Megadeth
 
I like christian metal. And most other Christian music
I use to like secular music, but not anymore
