What is your definition of a friend?
I am uncertain myself.
I can say that my "internet friends" are few and far between. I have found brothers on this site and I'm pretty sure sisters, but I think I can only call one my friend, but I don't really know why. A friend is a curious thing.

Well, based off that definition...I don't know what it means to be me. Other people seem to somehow, but some of the deepest aspects that I'm aware of I can't share (except to the Lord) though I have tried.
I have had people be there for me, sometimes. There are many private moments that I want someone else to be there for me (and realistically think I need them to be) but there isn't...at least not yet.

When I'm on here I check new posts to see if there's anything of interest to me, or questions where I think maybe I can contribute. I know this is in the Christian Teen forum of the site, so maybe I shouldn't be replying here....I'm hardly a teen at 53 years of age, although I was for a time, starting 40 years ago
So what's a recipe to make friends? If I may venture I would say what someone else said, 'to be yourself'. The pursuit of friendship can lead people to try and be things they are not, because they want the friendship of others.
So whether its here or not here.....my advice would be to be genuine, to be authentic.
The definition of friend is someone who is on your side. An example of a friend is an ally in a protest. Friend is defined as a person that you are fond of, with whom you talk or spend time.
True friends are very hard to come by, but when you recognize someone as being a true friend then you should do you best to hold on to them. Just because someone has been in your life for a long amount of time does not necessarily mean that they are a true friend. Someone who is accepting of your past and that believes in your future will create a positive presence in your life. A true friend will never try to change you because they will love the real you, unless they notice that you aren't acting as yourself.
A true friend will never be envious of your accomplishments, and will never try to copy your style, which is also an indication of envy. A true friend will be there for you through thick and thin, even when they know that you are wrong, they will stick with you until you are able to make things right. A true friend will push you towards greatness, and not pull you away from it. Most of all a true friend will love you unconditionally, with no strings attached. Who are your true friends?

To me that definition is wrong . To me a true GODLY friend , IF he sees that you are wrong in something that your doing He will try to tell you . agreeing with someone just because they are your friend , would make both wrong . & would be deceiving them & lieing to them too. OR maybe I just not understanding it right . GOD BE WITH YOU AS HE SEES FIT .
