Apart from the flood being a judgement rather than a baptism, I would agree. But, by the same token, I could promote baptism as a form of judgment. Were we not all baptized by His Spirit due to our own sin? I certainly wouldn't have chosen good over evil as in my flesh. But, there by the grace of God, go I.

Re the Flood and baptism, there are a couple of relevant passages in Peter's epistles:

TOP #276: Christ died for sins once for all and then made alive by the Spirit. [1Pet. 3:18 = Heb. 9:26-28, 10:10-15] At this point Peter alludes to Christ preaching to “the spirits in prison” (cf. 1Pet. 4:6), which is a problematic reference possibly related to Paul’s mention of being “baptized for the dead” in 1Cor. 15:29, so it is not enumerated as a definite teaching. However, it may be Peter’s equivalent to Paul’s teaching about a proto-gospel (TOP #10).

Peter also said that the flood in the days of Noah symbolizes baptism that saves because of the resurrection of Jesus (1Pet. 3:20-21).
However, he also called it a judgment:

TOP #308: God judges both angels and humans both while on earth and on the day of judgment. [2Pet. 2:4-9] The great flood and the burning of Sodom and Gomorrah serve as examples that warn against succumbing to evil desires.

My take away is that baptism saves believers such as Noah but judges unbelievers/the ungodly.

What is the gift of the Holy Ghost?
After we get the Holy Ghost like JESUS gave HIS displies in cluding Paul in Acts 2:4, Paul explains about it.

1 Corinthians 14

1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

5 I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

They always told me it was because normal dress was too distracting to the men in the church. LOL. I told them they need to check the men in the church.

Well, I found my wife distracting in and out of the church, in minis or sackcloth.
(Perhaps at times my passion did need to be checked :^)

I asked these questions to make you look in HIS word for an answer.

1. How do we get rid of our sins?
2. Why would you say we all have been filled with the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost?
3. have you been baptized in JESUS name?

"It was poured out onto all mankind on the Day of Pentecost in order to accomplish final Judgment"

PROVE IT.

1. We don't. He does. We can do nothing apart from Him.
2. Because Joel says so.
3. Yes. Several times. As well as in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. What did it accomplish that Christ didn't accomplish, in that I may not boast? He must increase, I must decrease.

Re "Why would Peter tell them to get baptized in JESUS name and JESUS WILL fill you with the Holy Ghost IF HE ALREADY DID IT?":

Because Peter was sometimes slow on the uptake, which is why Jesus reprimanded him in Matt. 16:23
and Paul reproved him per Gal. 2:11-14. IMO, you should apply these to your legalism re WB.
First I was responding to a peron who think we all got the Holy Ghost when JESUS filled HIS discples in Acts 2:4.

Paul asked you if you got it? That was me sharing Acts 19 with you.

You haven't yet! Or have you? How were YOU baptized?

Re the Flood and baptism, there are a couple of relevant passages in Peter's epistles:

TOP #276: Christ died for sins once for all and then made alive by the Spirit. [1Pet. 3:18 = Heb. 9:26-28, 10:10-15] At this point Peter alludes to Christ preaching to “the spirits in prison” (cf. 1Pet. 4:6), which is a problematic reference possibly related to Paul’s mention of being “baptized for the dead” in 1Cor. 15:29, so it is not enumerated as a definite teaching. TOP #308: God judges both angels and humans both while on earth and on the day of judgment. [2Pet. 2:4-9] The great flood and the burning of Sodom and Gomorrah serve as examples that warn against succumbing to evil desires.

Thank you,

What does these verse say?
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Joel DID NOT SAY THAT.

AMEN, you have been baptized in JESUS name, waste of time getting baptized in HIS titles.

So have you been filled with HIS spirit like HE filled HIS disciples?

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Wrong. You are responding to a person who believes He poured His SPIRIT out unto all mankind as Prophesied by Joel.
The Apostles were filled with the Holy GHOST and endowed with healing and prophesying power in interpretive language. (without interpretation, you're just a banging drum) Two distinct characters of God. Gifts of the Holy Ghost include prophesy, healing, speaking in unknown languages, etc. to spread the message (they all heard them in their own tongue) etc. The Holy Ghost empowers those Spiritual gifts. "I would that you all spake in tongues, but, rather ye prophesy." The days of prophesy are over. There's nothing new to add. There are no more miracles as everything is done in accordance to His plan., and the Bible has been translated into every language on the planet now especially with AI. So, again, I ask, what is the function of the Holy Ghost in todays church? Do you believe God when He said He poured out His Holy Spirit onto all mankind? Not just the few who got baptized in water? As many as believed that day were saved, about 3,000 souls. Did they all speak in tongues as evidence? Does God need evidence? Do you need evidence? "You shall know a man by his fruits." If you believe in His Spirit, you will walk in His Spirit.

Read Joel all the way through.
They were all baptized, Peter was a hot headed overachiever. Read the part where Peter said He knew Jesus and would never deny Him. Then he denied Him. The he said He was the One true Son of God. "And on this rock I will build my church". So, what does Peter do? Develops the worlds largest religious organization based on Pete's never-ending state of confusion and anger. Not much different than a protestant building a movement around Acts 2:38 due to the overachieving thought of doing the work of the Lord. I believe there is a new dispensation occurring at this point in history.

You would understand more if you were filled with JESUS the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:38-39
King James Version
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Define baptize

Yea same thing, can you show me where Joel all Prophesied that ALL mankind got it.

Thank you, and if you notice HIS word says, Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

Yep, they HEARD in their own language but it does not say they spoke it their language.

Acts 8 they got baptized in JESUS name and how did they know they didn't get the Holy Ghost?

Yep, they did not speak in tongues so they sent for Peter and John, they came and they received the Holy Ghost days later.

Acts 10, they got the Holy Ghost first, then were commanded to be baptized in JESUS name.

Acts 19, they never heard of the Holy Ghost, Paul asked HOW WERE YOU BAPTIZED?

They obeyed were baptized in JESUS name and Paul laid hands on them and they received the Holy Ghost.

You say there is no Prophecy today, WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT??

Since you say that, I'm guessing you have not got the Holy Ghost.

Two different men who profiled and it came to pass.

No I DO NOT follow your personal thoughts that the Holy Ghost was poured out to all mankind, can you show me? FIRST IT'S NOT BIBLE second JESUS is the one who fills us one and a time or maybe a group like in Acts 2:4.

Short story, I was at a church out of my state, they were baptist and building a new church.

Baptise don't believe in being filled with the Holy Ghost.

Asked them why? They said some of the men of the church were praying seeking HIS FACE and JESUS filled them with HIS SPIRIT PRAISE GOD, AMEN. So they told their pastor what happened and the pastor KICKED THEM OUT!!! Who do you think is running that church??

When the 3 thousand souls were added, I can't prove it but that is when I think ALL of JESUS disciples were baptized. BUT you can't say the other DIDN'T speak in tongues, and I can't say they did.

I don't need evidence, I didn't die for you, but out of your own mouth it doesn't should like you got the Holy Ghost.

So you don't like what HIS word says how we get rid of our sins.

You can believe anything you like.

Do we need to get rid of them?

Read the book of Joel in it's entirety.
No. I have never received the Holy Ghost. There is no reason for me to posses Him. I strive every day to walk in the Spirit that the Lord has blessed me with and prove myself by my fruits. The sins of the flesh are obvious, and the fruit of the Spirit is peace, love, kindness and the other obvious things in life. If you sin, you will not enter into the rest of His Spirit that surpasses all human understanding. Nothing to do with you other than the choices and consequences. If you drop a ball, it will fall to the ground. If you assault a person without cause, you will go to jail. Quite basic.

Does he, so are you JESUS new rock?

So you don't like what HIS word says how we get rid of our sins.

You can believe anything you like.

So tell me, are we still born in sin?

Do we need to get rid of them?

If so how?

We are born into a world of sin. Which made it even more important for God to pour out His Spirit upon ALL man. We can not make that happen no matter how much we jump up and down and do the quarter mile around the sanctuary. It's already been done. Otherwise, we're just back to the Old Testament where man thought he was saved by works.

JESUS says in,

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

It's very clear, we need to be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost if we want to ENTER.

Then Peter said alost the same thing in Acts 2:38.

What do you think JESUS ment?

He filled HIS disclple with the Holy Ghost, if your humble he will fill you also Peter said it's FOR ALL.

As you can see JESUS is still filling people and letting them see the future, PROFF HE'S doing what he said he would do.

Your not even going to look at HIS word? Just give me YOUR opinion?

Sad, so to you EVERYONE is going to Heaven because of what JESUS did, no rules no noting just an open gate to Heaven.

Did you ever see these verses?

Matthew 7:21-23
King James Version
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

HE SENT THEM or SENDING THEM TO HELL!!!! HE NEVER KNEW THEM.

Look at what he says AFTER HE sent them to HELL, he speaks of foundation.

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

So to you we don't need to get rid of our sins, what do you think of this verse?

John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

?? Do you think EVERYONE is going to Heaven? If not what do we have to do to go to Heaven?

21. I think of the UPC when I see that one. But, yes, I believe Jesus paid the price for theological confusion and in that great and notable day we'll see each other as we truly are.

22. Yeah. Don't you wish you would just accept His gift of grace and stop worrying about whether you did it right or not?

23. That could probably be said about everybody. And probably will be. Thank God He paid for that sin, too. I mean, you do believe He died for all the sins of the world once for all. Right?

24-27. My house is built on the Chief Cornerstone's foundation. Do I sound like I don't have a grasp of what I believe? When did you enter the picture?

28. I'm still astonished, and I wasn't even there. Something only God could pull off.

29. Again, I think of the UPC movement.

?? I certainly hope so. I think if it were me, I'd just go ahead and trust Him when He told me I received His Holy Spirit way back in the day long before Mom and Dad thought about me. My spirit was born again by His Spirit when I first heard Him at the age of 9, giving me a newness of mind and a new power to overcome sin and fear and turn away from it with a humble heart and walk in unison with His direction in His joyful Spirit.

You said this,

"I'd just go ahead and trust Him when He told me I received His Holy Spirit way back in the day long before Mom and Dad thought about me. My spirit was born again by His Spirit when I first heard Him at the age of 9, giving me a newness of mind and a new power to overcome sin and fear and turn away from it with a humble heart and walk in unison with His direction in His joyful Spirit."

If I was you I would back that up with HIS word, if you can't it's a lie from Satan and your going down the road that leads to destruction.

But you do you, we all have choices to make, what do you think of is saying we need to be born of water and of spirit? Not true?
