Yes, although we can perceive God's power and loving nature via His creation and moral conscience, most of what we can know beyond that mode of revelation is by means of the Scripture God has gone to a lot of trouble to inspire dozens of writers over thousands of years to create and copy.

I agree that God is not tricky and does not want anyone to be deceived (1Tim. 2:3-4), so every normal person who reads it with an open mind can understand it well enough to be saved. (This is why I am glad my initials include GW :^). However, for those who desire to delve more deeply into the doctrine of election or into the epistle of Ephesians, some of us are participating in a systematic study on the Hermeneutics and Systematic Bible Study threads.

He was no where , just dead . When Christians die , Paul talks about us being asleep in Christ . Waiting for the ressurection when Christ returns .

Sorry. At first I switched the Lazarus's by mistake.

But the unsaved dead, both prior to Jesus's resurrection, and after, go to Hades/Sheol, where they are in torment, until final judgement, when they will be tossed into Hell/Gehenna, Lake of Fire.

Prior to Jesus's Resurrection, there was 2 compartments in Hades/Sheol. The saved were in the good side, commonly referred to as Abraham's bosom.

GW teaches that GW is inerrant, but GW does NOT teach that the extant Bible = GW;
only that it is useful for learning how to be saved and for teaching how the saved should behave (2Tim. 3:15-17).

I just read a good book regarding this topic: "No God But One - Allah or Jesus: A former Muslim investigates
the evidence for Islam and Christianity" by Nabeel Qureshi (Zondervan paperback, 2016)

He noted that the Muslim credo is the shahada, "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger" (p.24),
and that the way (sharia) to salvation is by obeying a code of laws (p.31). Notice how this coincides with the Hebrew shema,
"Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is One" (Deut. 6:4, p.67) and the Mosaic Law (Deut. 6:6, 7:11, 8:1, etc.), and contrasts with the Christian
credo, "Receive Christ Jesus as Lord" (Col. 2:6) and the Gospel of love (Rom. 5:5, p.36).
