It is quite something the God they have created.
There does seem to be some level of self loathing, narcissism, masochism ..... for some people who follow these teachings.
If you look at the personality profile of Augustine and/or Calvin one sees a lot of the same tendencies on message boards.
In real life I have not find it to be that way, but then they do not have the same anonymity in real life.
All the degrading of believers is highly influenced by Satan mocking God, like someone painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa.
It makes God look insane and abusive.
Satan mocks God today by getting people to believe his lies while keeping them from knowing God.
Satan first mocked God as he watched some of the angels walk to his side when the great debate took place before man was created. One third of the angels went with Satan.... Two thirds remained with the Lord.
We in the Church age are now an extension of that great prehistoric debate.
That is why its vitally important to seek, fight for, and find sound doctrine -- To be taught by only a few.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads
to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road
that leads to life, and only a few find it." Matthew 7:13-14
Jesus was giving that warning to his disciples. They who were already saved....
Its the Word of God being properly understood that gives life!
For he followed up with verse 15, which says....
Many today are stuck in self imposed asylums of denominationalism and can not find the life and freedom that God bestows on those who stay with sound doctrine.. not simply seeking doctrine. For it has to be sound doctrine!
For the time will come when they will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great
number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear." 2 Timothy 4:3
The great number of teachers is that 'broad and wide road' Jesus warned will lead to destruction.
Only a few finding it are those who desire and seek sound doctrine....
Not many should become teachers, my brothers, because you know
that we will receive a stricter judgment." James 3:1
James 3:1 tells us that if all heard the Spirit?
We would have only a few teachers amongst us...
Not the many we find all around us today that contradict one another and the Word of God.
Fake news started a long time ago...
