Many staff have been laid-off. The Home Ministry of the government of India has suspended the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) of World Vision India several times over the past years. This means that this NGO cannot accept foreign contributions legally because they have been asked to do so. There may be many reasons - like targetting Christian NGOs because of their activities that may be termed as religious; done so arbitrarily; and others. As we know many NGOs have closed down their offices in India like Compassion International and Amnesty International. Thank you.
