I won't embarrass the posters by identifying them. And you need to look up the definition of "pandemic". It has nothing to do with survival rates.I haven't heard either of those 2 arguments.
I agree. All it takes is for people to yell long and hard about an issue and folks will start to believe it. Like how a sickness with a 99+% survival rate is a "pandemic".
Schools used to teach people how to think, use logic and reason. Words meant something. Now words mean whatever someone decides that they mean. I read a complaint by an overweight black saying that the word "obese" was racist. So what do I say to him, "Hey you fat slob, get some exercise and eat properly"? At least I would be accused of something real instead of his imagination.
The fundamental issue here is not whether or not this is a pandemic, the issue is whether or not the experimental vaccine should be mandated for people 5 years old on up and if you are not vaccinated you get fired, you can't go to school, and you cannot walk into a store. That issue has everything to do with survivability rates. The basic principle in medicine is "do no harm" or "do the least harm possible". It is illegal in the US to mandate an experimental vaccine. It is an insult to our logic and reason that the US government would declare a state of emergency in September and therefore mandate a vaccine for businesses to take effect in January.
It defies all logic and reason that the places accused of being superspreader states that don't care about the science like Florida have the lowest rates of Covid whereas those who have faithfully followed the edicts from on high have the highest. The first region in the US to get to herd immunity was the Amish community which didn't have anyone vaccinated.
Meanwhile Israel and Singapore, two places with the highest vaccination rates have to mandate booster shots as they are now into their third wave. How is that reasonable or logical?

Hey, I hate the restrictions too. Just keep in mind that Australia's COVID death rate is around 1/10 of the USA's. I am no longer restricted anyway. I've had two jabs. Someone on this forum said that in 55 years, the effect of the vaccine will be to kill me. That will make me 155 years old. I'm terrified. Not.
Two things have arisen out of COVID that have nothing to do with the virus itself. One is the insane conspiracy theories floating around. Hopefully they will dissipate as people realise just how ridiculous most of it is. Still, if someone is waiting 55 years to see if they are right, anything is possible.
The other, and to my mind, more important issue, is the government's response, using COVID as an excuse to erode personal liberties. Hopefully people will realise how much of a threat this is and vote accordingly. The state of Victoria is beginning to resemble North Korea. The sooner we are rid of the closet Marxist the better.
It is if you are watching your health system collapse under the weight of massive numbers of COVID patients. I don't agree with mandatory vaccinations. I don't agree with people dying from COVID either. Governments are in a difficult position. Australia has gone hard on restrictions and vaccination policy. The death rate from COVID is less than 10% of that in the USA. Since the US has about 340 million people, I suppose it does not matter so much. The US has plenty of people, I'm sure 3/4 of a million or so won't be missed.
There is a very big difference between someone who is 100 and someone else who is 10. My mom has been fully vaccinated and although I chose not to get the shot for myself I did not do anything to discourage or dissuade her. However, I am pretty sure that the impact of the two shots and the booster will kill you off in 20 years along with other possible factors, however, that is going to be different for different people. For someone who is 65 the 55 year projection is probably much more accurate.
The insane conspiracy theories have for the most part been completely debunked and are now considered fact. There is no evidence that the virus came from a bat cave and all the evidence we do have is that it came from the Wuhan bioweapons lab -- fact. Fauci funded that research -- fact. Fauci did everything he could to turn the attention away from the bioweapons lab -- fact. The vaccine is deadlier and has far more adverse reactions than many previous vaccines that were rejected -- fact. They are mandating an approved vaccine but injecting you with an experimental one -- fact. What they are doing violates the Nuremberg codes and US constitution -- Fact (though this is still winding its way through the courts).
Also we have completely gotten rid of the closet marxist, they have all come out of the closet and are behaving brazenly in your face.
Not everywhere. We have a large Amish community very near NYC who have reached herd immunity without any of them getting vaccinated. Florida, our third most populous state and the state with the most elderly population is currently got the lowest number of cases of Covid in the nation. They did not have a shut down and they did not mandate the vaccine or masks. They were attacked and ridiculed for being anti science and holding "super spreader events" all of which never materialized.
Meanwhile Israel has the highest vaccination rate of any country and has had some of the worst waves of sick hitting their hospitals. Singapore is a second example of the vaccine not working.
Any logical, reasonable person would question the efficacy of the vaccine and that is precisely what Taiwan has done. By the way, Taiwan is the country that has the very best per capita death rate from Covid so they are truly the gold standard in how to deal with a pandemic.
We have proven, scientifically that Ivermectin is a very effective treatment, used to great advantage in India.
We also have 50 years of studies and evidence that HCQ is effective against all viral infections.
According to the Data Covid is not any more deadly than the flu and we have two effective treatments. There is no reason why an experimental vaccine would be mandated for all.
