Did Peter lie in his Acts vision when he said he had never eaten unclean animals?

Did Peter lie in his Acts vision when he said he had never eaten unclean animals?
No, Peter never ate unclean animals in accordance with what Christ taught by word and by example.. Christ quoted Deuteronomy three times in order to defeat the temptations of Satan, which included saying that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God, so he affirmed everything that God spoke in Deuteronomy, which included refraining from eating unclean animals (Deuteronomy 14), which Peter continued to act in accordance with.

Peter could have killed and eaten one of the clean animals in his vision , so the key to correctly understanding it is understanding what he refused to do what the God's law permitted him to do. Peter notably did not just object by saying that he had never eaten anything that was unclean but also added that he had never eaten anything that was common, moreover, God only rebuked Peter for referring to what He had made clean as being common, but did not rebuke him for referring to what He has made clean as being unclean. So Peter correctly identified the unclean animals as unclean and correctly knew that God's law prohibits eating them, but he incorrectly identified the clean animals as being common and incorrectly declined to eat them in disobedience to God's command to kill at eat. Peter interpreted his vision on three different occasions as being in regard to incorrectly identifying Gentiles without saying a word about now being able to eat unclean animals, so his vision had nothing to do with a change in their status.

Did Peter lie in his Acts vision when he said he had never eaten unclean animals?

Act 10:13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
Act 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
Act 10:15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
Act 10:16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

Peter said Lord I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

But the Lord did not rebuke him.

Gal 2:11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
Gal 2:14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

Peter erred here.

So he may have erred from time to time but obeying the dietary laws seems like it would be easy and Peter was zealous to keep it.

I know some people cannot believe that someone can pull it off being obedient all the time.

Was Peter going to lie to the Lord and He is going to think its alright.

Peter knows that the Lord knows everything so why would he think he could lie to the Lord.

The woman at the well said she did not have a husband and Jesus said you have had 5 husbands, and who she was living with is not her husband.

The rich man said what must he do to inherit eternal life and Jesus said obey the 6 commandments that have to do with not offending someone.

The rich man said he obeyed them from his youth but Jesus did not rebuke him.

Did the rich man really obey them from youth.

It appears as if he did if he wanted to know how to inherit eternal life and Jesus said keep those 6 commandments and he said he kept them from youth and Jesus did not rebuke.

And Jesus said but you lack one thing testifying he kept the 6 commandments for he did not lack there which is to sell all and give to the poor.

I do not think Peter was lying about keeping the dietary laws.

We are certainly not told in Acts (or anywhere else in the bible) that Peter lied:

“But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.” And a voice spoke to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed you must not call common.”” (Ac 10:14-15 NKJV)

Would the voice from heaven not have said something like, "But you have eaten unclean things, Peter. Don't tell lies!" The fact that the voice said no such thing seems to indicate that Peter was speaking the truth.

that was a dream he had between God and him. We was taught to follow Jewish Law and customs. He did not see this grace from God going further that the first chosen. Then saw it when he went to the house of Cornelius, a Gentile house, then saw then get saved by God through him, and perplexed over it, went to his brethren and exclaimed it

God is good all the time as good is God all the time for us all. Amazing Grace
