FIRSTFRUITS:
Lev 23:
9 the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:
11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.
(NOTE: On the 1st day of the week. The Priest was to wave/lift-up the sheaf/omer before the LORD.)
12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the LORD.
(NOTE: Also on the 1st day of the week a blemish free lamb was to be offered/burnt unto the LORD)
13 And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the LORD for a sweet savior: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin (2qts).
(NOTE: Same day, a meat offering: fine flour mingled with oil = Unleavened Bread & a drink offering of Wine. The exact symbols Jesus taught us to remember His Sacrifice. Jesus our Bread of Life (Jn 6:48, 35, 51) & our faith in His shed blood that forgives/pardons our sins symbolized by the wine (Matt 26:28, Rom 3:25).
The sheaf/omer wave offering of the barley harvest begins a 50 day count down to Pentecost. Known as "counting of the omer" (Lev 23:15-17) connecting the 2 HARVEST feasts. An omer was a dry measure that amounted to a little over a gallon 1/2
A sheaf, of 1st blossoms of the 1st grains gathered. The priest (starting at the waist) is to lifted-up (over his head) & wave the sheaf before God. This action acknowledged & dedicated the coming harvest to the LORD. This wave/offering before/onto the LORD, sanctified the whole field of harvest to come. Christ was RAISED-UP the firstfruit of resurrection. Setting the stage for the entire human race to be resurrected.
1 Cor 15:
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 (B) Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
A day of resurrection/reckoning awaits every person that ever lives. The question becomes; where will you spend eternity. With/in the presents of God our Creator. Or separated from, the presents of God.
John 11:
25 Jesus said; I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Jesus brought a Firstfruits resurrection wave offering to the Father, from the grave:
Matt 27:
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
(NOTE: Christ 1st, then many saints whom had died rose)
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
(NOTE: Christ 1st, then many saints whom had died rose)
Jesus resurrection is Father's the stamp of approval/receipt. That Jesus Sin Atoning Payment was received & accepted.
Anyone that will place their faith/belief in Jesus death, burial & resurrection (1 Cor 15:1-4) is promised eternal life with/in the presents of our creator God.
Pentecost is also known as the Festival without a date:
The Pentecost WAVE offering falls 7 Sabbaths plus 1 day after the Feast of Firstfruits WAVE offering. It's not until after the destruction Temple in A.D. 70 that Pentecost becomes a fixed date.
While the Temple was operating via the 360 day Jewish calendar & visually decided by the appearance of the new moon. Pentecost could fall on the 5th, 6th or 7th of Sivan. Now mix in leap years, can you say nobody knows the day or hour?
