@Magenta did that work? Seems like if you wanted to pm for another member you could do a conversation to Robo OP and include them in the conversation itself as between multiple members.

I mean I haven't ever had a reason to start group PM yet but if I do it'd be nice to know it works fine with non-paying members if someone wanted to do a bible study or something. If 2 non-members were invited to a group message they could see the paying members posts (who initiated) but not each others? Seems like that restriction wouldn't apply once a conversation has been started.
Well, I created a PM and included GiveThanks, Tararose and Robo, but so far, Robo has not responded...

It is not through any chat app, just a regular private message ;)
Yes, but.... If the chat app which allows you to use voice and get in the mic que, and the webcam feature is part of the privileges of paid membership (which the mic que is) what if it stops working in the next two weeks and someone just paid for membership?

I am just guessing here. I don't know how the discontinuation of Adobe flash is going to affect the chat app. I was under the impression that Actioinscript (the language behind Flash) is what the chat app uses and therefore I am wondering what is going to happen. Is there going to be an Actionscript apocalypse around the corner?

Google "End of Flash and Actionscript"

The chat app utilizes Adobe Air, not Adobe Flash. Robo based the chat app on Adobe Air because it was known that support if Flash was coming to an end.

Well I tried it a few more times and it still didn’t work, so yes - as we still have no way to contact him ourselves.

It is all a bit strange, I know it’s a big site And lots of people... but the owner is the only paid person on the site, according to the info I was given when I enquired about how the finances of the site work - and he also seems to be the only one who can help with many of these issues.

I really do appreciate we can all use this site for free, and that it must take some maintaining. It is no light task, but perhaps someone (That the owner takes notice of) could suggest some of the volunteer moderators etc be more hands on and also be allowed to deal with Issues that arise . It makes sense surely if he is not really on, here much, or able to keep track/help with the problems as they arise.

Just my 2 cents worth.
The sorts of things Robo handles seems to be more on the tech side of things that most people don't have the knowledge to do. He leaves the day to day things to mods and admins. So I'm not sure there is much else he can pass on for them to do.
Also, no doubt, what he's able to grant them to do, based on the software, is limited. It's my understanding there's a lot more behind the scenes work the mods do than we ever see. And they're busier than we might guess, so being volunteers he may not want to rely on them in other ways, or put more on them.

Ok thanks for explaining.

The main reason it baffles me is that I see the messages asking for donations every time I log in, I thought it might have been quite a priority to make sure the site could accept payments if the owner needs the cash to keep things ticking over. 🤷‍♀️

It is fine if I can’t private message people, it’s not the end of the world. I don’t know what other advantages there is to membership, but I am content to just be able to respond on the threads.

The rest of the benefits are chat room based.
