*ahem*

Genesis 4:4
Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat.
And the LORD respected Abel and his offering.

Christ is God and He "by one sacrifice" has perfected forever we who are being sanctified. ((Hebrews 10:14))
Yeah, no pagans existed at the time of Adam and Eve.

So, what's your point about? Well, if you want to be picky, Cain was an unbeliever. Christ's sacrifice provided forgiveness for people of faith then, as Hebrews 11 says clearly.

The point was to refute the claim from a member (now banned) regarding sacrafice.

God does not believe in sacrifice, this came from pagans.}

Jesus dying on the cross for our sins was a sacrifice as you have rightly stated. No idea what your snarky unmerited response was all about to me, especially since I had not responded to you in the first place but to another member.

You obviously missed the memo. Snarky is the new loving. Overnight, the site went from one of the most sarcastic to one of the most amiable.

Your comment mystifies me. It wasn't snarky at all. I was just curious as to the origin of this idea. My apologies for leading you into questioning my comment. Exactly what was the nature of your discussion?

It's all good Bruce. Let's go in peace. :)

sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

This mens that God does not see your past, nor your sins, at all.

He only sees the Born Again Son/Daughter, as "one with God"....."made Righteous"....."In Christ"., and there is no sin found there.

God only sees the born again as the "new Creation" in Christ.

John 8:31,34 KJV

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

[34] Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

What is your point?

God tries us and tests us, and sees if we will continue in His word.
Or not continue in His word.

Like these disciples…….
John 6:66-67 KJV
From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. [67] Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

1 Peter 4:12 KJV
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

Genesis 22:12 KJV
And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
