THIS is describing those who've heard and rejected God, not that God chose to make them this way:

19. Because a knowledge of God is revealed to them, for God has revealed it to them.
20. For the secrets of God from the foundation of the world are appearing to his creatures through intelligence, even his power and his eternal Godhead, that they will be without a defense,
21. Because they knew God, and they did not glorify him as God, nor did they give him thanks, but they became destitute in their reasoning and became dull in their heart without understanding.
22. And when they thought in themselves that they were wise, they became insane.
23. And they changed the glory of God, who is indestructible, into the likeness of the image of man, which is destructible, and into the likeness of birds and of four footed animals and of creeping things of The Earth.
24. Because of this, God handed them over to the vile desires of their heart to disgrace their bodies among themselves.

this can be the Gospel Preached, personal Testimony, family member talking about Jesus, flipping channels on tv/radio about God, log into FB and see hundreds of meme's about God. EVERYONE knows about God. but they CHOOSE to REJECT Him, not that He predestined them to go to Hell.
what kind of baloney idealism and became a false doctrine is that?

Verse 21 even shows us after learning about God, the people CHOSE to:

21. Because they knew God, and they did not glorify him as God, nor did they give him thanks, but they became destitute in their reasoning and became dull in their heart without understanding.

There is no inherent contradiction between God's sovereignty and man's free will. Both are true. A good example is Jesus' death. In Acts 2:23, both the council and and foreknowledge of God and men's wicked hands are mentioned.

Amen!

and we do read that Pharaoh hardened his heart and that God..then..sealed it, for God's Glory.

...like you said: There is no inherent contradiction between God's sovereignty and man's free will.

perfect example:
it would be an outright lie, by God, to Proclaim [sent His Son to SAVE the World (that WHOSOEVER BELIEVES)] and in the next breathe proclaim, God predestined everyone who denies God, to Hell.

if the conjecture is: whosoever believes = Saved
then it must follow: whosoever Rejects = DEAD

but, it is "all about" whosoever, like all of us here at CC, have to Choose when God: 19. Because a knowledge of God is revealed to them, for God has revealed it to them.

and we CHOSE, GOD!

we CHOSE...

That's a whole other debate, but I do agree that people fit themselves for destruction. And I believe that's what Romans 9 is speaking to.

you hear the Gospel Preached
Seed is Planted
You choose what happens to that Seed.
Bible flat out states: you can HEAR the GOSPEL and still Reject it.

I like this scripture:

He will be great before the Lord. And he must not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb (Luke 1:15)

It shows us that abortion is definitely wrong and it shows an element of God's choice in salvation. The Baptist was chosen by God and filled with the Holy Spirit from conception. God's choice is a comfort, be at peace and serve him with gladness. :)

how many times do we see, at end of Church Service, altar call, but this message:

if you want Jesus raise your hands [first, we know not everyone is raising their hands that should be]

next, come down to the altar [just a bit more than half of those who raised their hands actually go to the altar]

and you know, in your spirit, they should be going to the altar.

they HEARD and Rejected. and you were aware of it.

Free Will!

I guess where we differ is how much God is responsible for and how much people dead in their trespasses and sins can respond.

we have 2 Verses that 1 says, God, gives people the Knowledge of Him, and a second Verse [actually 1 for each] one that claims, they either SUBMIT and the other that claims they DENIED that God is God.

so, how much can God be Responsible for if He ALLOWS Free Will to make the final Decision?

can't be much, if He then sits on Judgement Day and proclaims, You Rejected Me. a true Sovereign God, would not make a person reject Him, and then Blame it all on the Person, and sentence that person to Eternal Damnation!

There are different levels of knowing God. Romans 1 clearly acknowledges that God can be known through creation and through conscience. This knowledge is sufficient for them to be held accountable before God. The next question is whether it is sufficient to bring about salvation...that is, the level of knowing God and Christ as is described in John 17:3. The answer to that question is what separates so many.

it also says they have no excuse.

when they get to heaven, they can not claim ignorance or they did not know..

how can God be Sovereign, to trick someone into denying Him, then sit on Judgement Day like this person made this decision on their own merit/effort/account, and pay the Penalty for doing something God made them to do?

if that is a Sovereign God, i want no part of Him!
