viewing the KJV as the ONLY correct version of the Bible elevates it to idol status.

That's only your opinion. Believing the KJV as the preserved holy word of God is not idolatry. I don't worship the book, I worship the Lord. We must elevate the book in order to worship the Lord of the book. The two cannot be separated. Again, God magnifies his word above his name. What's in a name if his word cannot be trusted...every word.

Your point being? The promise was not made while the King's English was the language of choice.

Nope, but God chose to use the English language to preserve his words entirely in one book. And btw, it is not the King's language. By 1611, the English words were already going through a change. Many words used in the KJV were not current words, but used for precise language.

So it is NOT the King James version??? .:unsure::unsure:

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

That is from Psalms, written in Hebrew. Do you read Hebrew?

With your attitude, you ought to.

My "reality" doesn't state anything; that's a fallacy of reification. As to your specific issue, my Bible doesn't state that... and neither does yours.

I know, I know, God has preserved the poor from this generation for ever. Right?:sneaky:

You dodged quoting the verse earlier in this thread. Now step up and show us what it says.

And I've heard every argument in the book. Did God preserve people or his words? If people, where are they? They would be very old.:)

Psalm 12
6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

I've come to the conclusion that KJVO is a cult. I don't know why anyone would even waste time debating it.

God never promised to preserve his words in Aramaic, Hebrew, or Greek.;)
The Pentateuch was originally written in Paleo-Hebrew. Evidently only a very few scrolls of this seminal text survive.

Whether it was people or His words is a secondary issue. The primary issue is these three words...

"FROM THIS GENERATION"

They undermine your position completely. They also undermine your silly comment (bolded).

In the hopes of preserving other people from falling into that hole. Those already in the hole are beyond human help.

..... and, He told you that? Why were we ALL not let in on that little secret? The English language, huh? Wow.... Why did God not choose Yiddish? Or, Chinese? There are more Chinese people on the planet than any other ethnicity, I imagine. Why did God choose English to be His only approved language?
I can't believe how you don't know how silly/ignorant/ethno-centric/arrogant you sound when you claim that as "fact"....
