I'm going to take the chance that you are an intelligent and honest student of the Bible. I am also going to assume that English is your mother tongue. So, I will refer you to my posting # 39 without comment.
You have my deepest respect and I wish you all God's blessings.
You have my deepest respect and I wish you all God's blessings.
I read post #39, I doubt you'll be surprised it hasn't changed my view. I hope you will afford me the same courtesy.
God cuts a covenant with Abram (Gen 12:1-3) void of law. Verse 3 states ALL families of the earth be blessed. Gen 12:15 speaks to the unconditional nature of that covenant promise.
Gal 3:
16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was 430 years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
(MY NOTE: The Abrahamic covenant is separate from & not annulled by the Mosaic covenant that is cut with Israel only)
18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
(MY NOTE: Abraham receives his covenant promise where ALL families will be blessed via his coming seed/Christ void from any Mosais laws)
Heb 7:
11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
(MY NOTE: Jesus mediates a more perfect all inclusive (faith required) new covenant. Better then/sepratate from the Old Mosaic Levitical priesthood)
12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
(MY NOTE: a change of the law is required)
13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
(MY NOTE: The law covenant brought death due to sin. The new covenant brings life thru faith in Christ)
Heb 8:
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
(MY NOTE: The old covenant (which BTW Israel agreed to (Ex 19:8) & broke (Jer 31:31). Vanished Acts 2:4 when Jesus sent the Promise & baptized the believing Jews with his salvation sealing/eternal life giving Holy Spirit.)
Amplified Bible
2 Cor 3:
1 Are we starting to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some [false teachers], letters of recommendation to you or from you? [No!]
2 You are our letter [of recommendation], written in our hearts, recognized and read by everyone.
3 You show that you are a letter from Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
4 Such is the confidence and steadfast reliance and absolute trust that we have through Christ toward God.
5 Not that we are sufficiently qualified in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency and qualifications come from God.
6 He has qualified us [making us sufficient] as ministers of a new covenant [of salvation through Christ], not of the letter [of a written code] but of the Spirit; for the letter [of the Law] kills [by revealing sin and demanding obedience], but the Spirit gives life.
The brackets above are from the AMP translators not from me.
King James Bible
2 Cor 3:
1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
(MY NOTE: 2 Cor is written to believers (see 2 Cor 1:1. BTW Corinth is in Greece not Israel). The apostle say's in vs 5-6 that God has made US (Greek gentiles) ministers of the spiritual life giving new testament. NOT of the old testament that requires death because of sin.
Eph 3:6 This mystery is that thru the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of 1 body, & sharers together in the promise "in Christ"
(MY NOTE: Gentiles are heirs with Israel & share in Christ's PROMISED INDWELLING Holy Spirit)
Corban,
2 Cor 3:6 proclaims gentiles to be ministers of the new covenant. Eph 3:6 proclaims gentiles are heirs with Israel via Christ Holy Spirit in them).
