I came here to defend the appearance of opossums. They are incredibly cute!!
Well, I think they are. Opossums are one of my favorite critters. I wish I could exchange the pesky raccoons around here for opossums.

I partly agree on the snakeskin belt idea but only if it is from
one of those pythons that have destroyed the eco system in the everglades.

I only saw this photo on my phone, and with it being so tiny on that screen, at first I though this was some kind of rock formation!

What an INCREDIBLE picture!!!

I LOVE gators and this close-up is fascinating.

I mean...

From 5 years ago I had one of the dozen that came to our yard for peanuts and such. It took a while to get him to trust me.
In my right hand is a steel rod with a pointed end. I'd insert the point into 1/2 of a shelled skinned peanut and call him to me. He's jimp unto the arm of the chair and climb my arm up to my shoulder and take the peanut. Most times he'd sit there to eat it and I'd give him another. He'd stay 'til he was full. And yes the claws stung just a bit on bare skin.

If you try this please remember that when you touch a peanut the scent transfers to your fingers. Sometimes the squirrrels bit the scent rather than the nut

I was truly sorry to read that you weren't able to make a profitable career from your photography. You obviously have a God-given talent and I know I have enjoyed these pictures very much!

I missed this one until Seoulsearch commented. It reminds me of George.
He brought smiles to a lot of faces.
Believe it or not he was a rescue gator that I worked with until he was very pettable.
Wish I had the pictures handy.

searching an external drive and ran across this

this girl lived in my bin cupboard for a few years , she was rather large and I would find the dessicated remains of other spiders in there 😬 eventually she had a lot of babies and died .

I caught these two ruffians fighting outside my living room window , in the end one of them killed the other . It took a while and it was pretty brutal 😵 .

Oh mine too ! When I was very small , approx 3 years old , I took hold of my aunties hand ( she was about 14 at the time ) took her into my bed room and made her look under my bed . Apparently I had a collection of spiders under there ! Mostly dead ones but also quite a few live ones 😲 I have no recollection of this but she never forgot it 😆😆😆 .
