[ Scriptures 'summed' in brackets ] "INTRODUCTION

Someone has just introduced you to the Lord Jesus Christ, and you have been saved from
your sins. Naturally you are very excited and filled with joy, but you are not sure exactly
what has happened to you, nor what is expected of you now that you believe.

This article will serve as a helpful primer for you as a new Christian. In it, we will answer
the following questions:

• What did I believe?

...1. I’m a sinner. [ Rom 3:23; Ecc 7:20 ]...
...2. There are eternal consequences to sin. [ Rom 6:23; Jam 1:15; Eze 18:4; Rev 21:8 ]...
...3. Christ Died for my sins. [ 1Co 15:3; Isa 53:10; Rom 4:25; 1Pe 2:24 ]...
...4. I was saved by believing that Christ Died for my sins.
...5. I was not saved by good works. [ Act 16:31; Tit 3:5; Rom 4:5; 2Ti 1:9: Eph 2:9 ]...
...6. I was not saved by keeping the Ten Commandments.
...• What happened to me when I believed?...

...• Why should I serve the Lord now that I believe?...

...• How should I serve the Lord now that I believe?...

...• How do I deal with sin now that I believe?...

...• How do I deal with adversity now that I believe?...

...• What does the future hold for me now that I believe?"...

...Conclusion

As you can see, now that you have believed, many wonderful things have happened to
you in the spiritual realm. It is our prayer that these articles will help you make these
spiritual realities actual, substantive and operative in your life. God has fully equipped
you to deal with sin and adversity in your life, and you have a bright future ahead of you,
eternally speaking. May God bless you as you endeavor to

“grow up into Him in all things, Which is The Head, even Christ” (Ephesians 4:15)" [ AV ]

I was 14 when I got on the right spiritual path. I was walking down the street and picked up a bible tract that was lying down. It discussed salvation. That night I told Jesus I was sorry for my sins and asked him to save me. Started to read the bible to learn how to get right with the Lord. Started a spiritual journey of sorts. I am 70 years old now and the journey continues.

Precious friend @tourist Jerry, thanks for sharing, and all your wonderful encouragement for
an elder brother in this Chat site.

I was raised in religion, and 'knew' the Truth about "eternal torment in hell" and was very
terrified for the most part of 27 years. Then, "The Light Shone" when I was at home alone,
reading the gossip paper, The National Enquirer. I saw a "full-page ad" about Free booklets
about "Heaven, Hell, and Home Life", and always being an avid reader, thought "sure, why not".

I called the toll-Free # and and a kind lady from your own state, TN, took my order. When done
she asked me a shocking question: "If you died TONIGHT are you absolutely Sure you would go
to heaven?" I answered that I was not sure.

Then she shared The Precious Gospel Of Grace with me, and asked if I wanted to pray, or should
she help me. I didn't know how, so I asked her to help. When done, I knew something was

Different! After receiving/reading their materials, and some Bible study, I found that I Had:

"Therefore, Being Justified By faith, we have Peace With God,
Through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:1 AV)
Through many changes along my 'Grace Journey', this Is The One 'Constant' That
Has Always Been There!!

Amen.

Brother Jerry, thanks for listening! Looking forward to meeting you, After Jesus (Of Course),
in God's Great GloryLand!

I'm about ready to have Christmas dinner with the Lord. It's Christmas and sat down to read Matthew 2-3. In three we're reminded of John the Baptist with his new converts who trusted Christ. This is the format I follow if there's opportunity.

Lord, make his paths straight. 4And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. 5Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, 6And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

Some make the lethal mistake of turning verse 6 into a salvation verse. You however made the gospel clear, as did John. A reliable witness recorded under inspiration of the Holy Spirit in Acts 19:4 KJV tells us John's gospel message.

Back in verse 6 were then baptized as the first step of obedience of these babes in Christ. What I have experienced with new believers is that they need to be immediately taught how to regain fellowship with the Lord when they sin. Notice I did not say regain salvation. That is everlasting and was not earned nor kept by obedience to the law. When we sin, we break fellowship with the Lord and His solution is to confess those specifically to Him. Jeremiah 3:13, Psalm 32, I John 1:9

This restores the walk with Him and we are back on speaking terms. If they do not confess sins on the basis of Christ's merit, the believer remains miserable, lacks power in the spirit, backslides and suffers consequences as children of the Father. They can eventually come under discipline as outlined in I Corinthians 11:32-

John the Baptist got those baby believers baptized/immersed in deep water and started out right walking with the Lord.
Ongoing confession of sins is ongoing practice that should remain throughout life. Salvation is the ongoing result of placing one's faith in Jesus Christ one time. Reading and hearing the Word of God will strengthen that faith.
See John 17:17 KJV

Helping people get started on their Christian walk on the right foot is critical. Sometimes people get involved with something that they later reject and stop pursuing their faith. A solid foundation can be essential.

I am looking forward to meeting you too, brother Chris.

Regarding point 1, this is not true. Past is not present. What was is not what is. I was is not I AM.

You are not defined by your mistakes, you are known to God by your goodness. You are a new creation. You have everything you need within you to overcome all struggles.
