I was wondering If there Is a way to automatically alarm the poster and the reader If the scripture quoted Is not located?

IE
John 3:16
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Lets say someone wanted to use scripture to make there point and they post the wrong scripture(s).

John 3:16
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

I'm guilty of not checking every scripture because I got lazy but I wonder just how many have posted Incorrectly to buttress their point and maybe It's not deeply Important to some but wouldn't It be good If there was an alarm to those posting and those that are reading that a scripture Is not located?☺️

Don't worry about posting a scripture with an inaccurate chapter/verse because in the BDF there will certainly not be a shortage of those that will point out the mistake. Believe me, alarm bells will sound and the first responders will respond.

That sounds extremely unlikely. That would require creating a database that covers a seemingly infinite translations. And the ability to recognize a variety of possibilities for each scripture to be recognized. For instance... 1 Cor, 1 Corinthians, I Cor, I Corinthians.
Next it has to recognize where to start and stop checking for a scripture.

Also considering the software this site is built on does not do well with customization I'd say that's pretty out there.

There are so many bibles online it just takes seconds to double check, but people are unwilling to do this.

I’m guilty of taking the scriptures they posted as right because I recognize the scripture they posted even If It’s not In the right location.

Maybe my suggestion Is too major but some here like to post many scriptures In their post.

I think you ought to check your own posts first. One site used to have that when you posted a reference that when you moused over them, the scripture would show up, and you could choose the version too. So its possible.

But maybe they just had all the bells and whistles software to do it.

I always double check my posts, the main thing is making sure the verse I write down is correct.
