Ok Reborn I do not know you but from what I can see in your latest posts, you most definitely need me, a stupendous female, to be either an administrative assistant or Mighty Mouse to carry on your efforts towards justice.

My verse in today's devotion, which I needed desperately to hear today.

Isaiah 40:31 Those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.

Wait upon the Lord?

I am thinking this means more than the mere letting time pass .. until something happens.

קָוָה qâvâh, kaw-vaw'; a primitive root; to bind together (perhaps by twisting), i.e. collect; (figuratively) to expect:—gather (together), look, patiently, tarry, wait (for, on, upon).

And I agree with you on this. The most difficult thing for me is "waiting." Always has been and always will be. As we wait on the Lord, He is already in action, whether we see it or not. His time is not our time. He doesn't get in a hurry like we humans do. Patients is another weakness I have.

God's timing is perfect.

and I will admit I am horrible at waiting and patience too!

We had a guest Pastor from Omaha, today, while our Pastor was on Vacation. He made a statement in his opening of his sermon; that I have never heard before.

A Christian was not Created TO worship the LORD; but rather,
we were ALREADY Worshiping HIM, when we were CREATED.

Think about it!

2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

Yes, the second time, born again. A new creation . He is the lamb slain from the foundation not the fleshly promised demonstration thousands of years later a after shadow . From before time began (the 3rd day) when he was working .He rested on the 7th.

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Psalm 46:10
One of my Favorite verses.....another one is.....

I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

Even IF the 2nd were true, it wouldn't negate the 1st.

to VCO -
the scripture you put in is certainly accurate, but your application is in total 'error'...

we certainly 'disagree with your post -
Paul says just the opposite, when speaking of 'the carnal man, 'us', before conversion' -
ROMANS 3:10.
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11.
There is none that understands, there is none that seek after God.

this is the whole 'purpose' of worship and prayer, = seeking after God', for what ever reason...

I wasn't sure if @VCO was referring to the old creation or the new creation found in Christ Jesus which would fit the 2Tim 1:9 passage.

Cross, to us, it certainly sounds as if VCO is referring to the 'old-man' and NOT the NEW CREATION...

we definitely believe as Paul does, that we are pre-destined according to our 'calling' -
but that in NO WAY nullifies our 'carnal/lives/nature' which almost ALL of us live OUT,
and Practice the 'sinful behaviour' of which Paul speaks of...
and so, let us 'over-come' EVERY ASPECT of our 'sinful nature', - and may we desire to replace it with
'the True Nature of Jesus Christ, our Lord'...
